He beat the Cougars' defense with his arm and his legs showcasing dual-threat ability. Coen's scrambling and ability to roll out made it difficult to defend him as he also did damage on some option plays and direct runs. He rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries to average over 10 yards per touch. Carpenter managed the game very well and was clearly one of the best athletes on the field on Friday night. He beat the Richwood defense over the top several times as the Red Devils hit some timely passes throughout the game with their running game drawing defenders in.
