Part of the trio of defenders that stood out on the first and second levels of the Bettendorf defense on Friday, Wyatt Freking posted the second-most tackles for the Bulldogs. An effort linebacker that was key in defending the run and the passing, Freking posted the lone interception of the evening for Bettendorf's defense and added 7.5 tackles, two tackles-for-loss (TFLs) and a sack. A savvy football player with high IQ, Freking made key plays for the Bulldog defense to thwart the Prairie offensive attack. A calm, steady linebacker that makes plays when provided to him, Freking could be a diamond in the rough for an FCS program.

The main weapon for the Bettendorf offensive attack, [player_tooltip player_id='1240429' first='Hayden' last='Morrison'] serves as sophomore quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='980028' first='Cannon' last='Davis']'s safety valve and his go-to target when the Bulldogs need a big play.

Morrison specializes in making difficult catches -- one coming where he high-pointed the ball and ripped it out of a Prairie defender's hands for a big gain -- and yards after catch. The No. 12 receiver in the state's class of 2026, Morrison can take a slant for a first down and turn it into a 20+ yard gain by putting his foot in the ground and getting up field. If opposing defenses give him an inch on a deep ball, he'll take a mile, too. If he gets behind the secondary, get ready to switch sides of the ball, because he'll out-run everyone.

Like Freking, an FCS program like Northern Iowa, Illinois State or Drake should be all over this kid. Big programs like Iowa or Iowa State should offer a preferred walk-on spot, too.

One of the premiere linebacker prospects in the state and in the Midwest, [player_tooltip player_id='1609271' first='Gavin' last='Stecker'] showed why he has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota on Friday night. Supposedly putting up just 12 tackles according to Bound, it sure looked like the No. 2 LB in Iowa had quite a few more than that against Prairie -- probably closer to 20.

With Iowa LBs coach, Seth Wallace in attendance, Stecker was around the ball on every play, showing off his strength as a backer on one particular play early in the game. When meeting a Prairie running back in the B-gap on third and short, Stecker stoned the ball-carrier and stopped him in his tracks for no gain. Still slight of frame but with a high football IQ and nose for the football, Stecker's upside is massive.

A running back for the Bulldogs, [player_tooltip player_id='217007' first='Jack' last='Wessel'] provided the only two scores of the evening for the Bettendorf offense -- both coming through the air. On two checkdowns from Davis, Wessel caught the ball and immediately turned up field looking to make a play. Breaking tackles and weaving his way through traffic, Wessel found the endzone -- and he did it twice. Both scores were critical in the Bulldogs' efforts to defeat the uber-talented Prairie Hawks on the home field.

Wessel isn't an elite athlete, but his effort and strength as a ball-carrier who will run through tackles stand out. His biggest positive as a football player is his ability to make plays out of the backfield when the downfield passes aren't there for his young quarterback.

Another effort prospect who plays much bigger than his size, [player_tooltip player_id='401666' first='Armon' last='Williams'] was incredibly impactful on the defensive line for Bettendorf. With a club on his right forearm, Williams got after Prairie quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='458050' first='Cael' last='Kongshaug'], putting constant pressure on him and getting into the backfield.

It was also near impossible for the Prairie Hawks to run up the middle, not only thanks to the play of Stecker and Freking, but because Williams continually blew plays up.

The third of the defensive trifecta for the Bulldogs, Williams registered seven tackles, including 3.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. He forced a fumble, as well.

Likely a D2 defensive linemen or FCS convert from DL to LB, Williams' is a prospect someone will be very glad they decided to recruit.
