Centerville attacked opponents with a potent air game in 2025. When it needed yards on the ground, however, Kaleponi was more than happy to take the ball. The junior led the team with 785 yards (6.3 YPC) and 14 touchdowns on the ground. He added 12 receptions for 159 yards and a score. Kaleponi stood out on defense as well, collecting 22.5 tackles, 13 of which were solo stops. He added a tackle for loss and a sack. On special teams, Kaleponi punted 14 times with a 35.6-yard average. We can witness Kaleponi's exploits during his 11th-grade highlight video. He gets downhill in a hurry after taking the handoff, busting through traffic between the tackles and also flashing wiggle to make defenders miss. Kaleponi is patient with keen vision and speed to outrun opponents in the open field. The quickness, fluid movements and strength also work well on defense, where there's also next-level potential.

My first in-person scouting opportunity of Malik happened during last year's Back2Ballin 7-on-7 tournament in Cedar Falls. Malik put his athleticism and explosion on display in contributing on both sides of the ball for the Carroll Chargers. He followed up a productive spring with a fabulous junior season at Carroll High. Malik piled up 1,514 yards (7.3 YPC) and 18 touchdowns for the Tigers. He added six catches for 91 yards. When popping on his 11th-grade highlight video, we witness a dynamic running back. His legs are churning as soon as he takes the handoff, and he accelerates quickly. Malik flashes breakaway speed on long scoring runs and loses defenders between the tackles with sharp cuts. He's more than a speed guy, proving capable of barreling over defenders. Malik's frame can add plenty of good weight and strength without he loss of valuable speed and athleticism. He'd also be worth trying in the return game.

Burford was an impactful presence on a Wilton defense that helped the Beavers' march to the state semifinals, which included an upset win at PCM in the quarters. The junior accounted for 52.0 tackles, 32 of which were of the solo variety. Burford posted 6.0 tackles for loss and contributed four two-point conversions on offense. The statistics point to his strength being an individual embracing the game's physicality. We also see that during his 11th-grade highlight video. Burford fires off of the edge when the ball is snapped. He operates with violent hands and unusual strength, absorbing blocks and separating from them in a hurry. Burford moves well laterally and in a straight line, traits that help when he's given the ball on conversion attempts. They also would aid him when contributing for special teams' units on the next level. Burford is capable of playing linebacker with his skill set.

Jacobsen shined in all three phases for Okoboji in 2025. The junior rushed for 360 yards (6.8 YPC) and two touchdowns, and added 30 receptions for 376 yards and three scores. On defense, he accumulated 30.5 tackles, 23 of which were solo stops. Jacobsen had two tackles for loss, a pair of interceptions and a couple of passes defended. He converted 3 of 5 field-goal attempts with a long make from 39 yards out, was 26 of 30 on point-after tries and recorded nine touchbacks on 44 kickoffs. The all-around athleticism required to produce in so many aspects of the game shine through during his 11th-grade highlight video. The first clip features him taking a pitch-toss after coming in motion. He makes people miss in close quarters before hitting the jets and sprinting to the end zone. Jacobsen lines up in the slot, hauls in screen pass, jukes defenders and goes the distance again on Clip 2. It's a versatile skill set at receiver, one that also plays well in the secondary. More good news for scouts on the next level - Jacobsen's frame has room to fill out and pack on more power in a college strength and conditioning program, adding upside to present production.

Rozeboom lowered the boom on both of sides of the line of scrimmage last fall. The junior was credited with 11 pancake blocks as an offensive lineman, and came up with 16.5 tackles, six of which were solo stops on the D-Line. He proved disruptive with four tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. Rozeboom shows his work during his 11th-grade highlight video. He is a force at center, exploding into the chest of the opponent off of the snap and quickly gaining an advantage. Rozeboom's strength and powerful push overwhelm the guy across from him. His hands are active and help him control the defender through the play and the whistle. They aid in pass protection, where balance and smooth footwork also contribute to success. The skills that make for an effective center translate well to defensive tackle. There's a path to next-level playing time on both sides of the ball for Rozebloom, but the upside at center definitely is worth exploring.
