Week 2's slate of games in the Kansas City metro and surrounding counties produced some entertaining matchups as well as some outstanding performances. This second edition of the Game Ball series features all three phases of the game. See how these 11 prospects fared in Week 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='1403517' first='Haydon' last='Hull'] - Ottawa, 6'2”, 160, QB, Class of ‘26

Hull and the Ottawa Cyclones were featured during our season previews, and they are off to a hot start through two weeks. Through two games, the Cyclones are averaging over 40 points. Hull's play is a big reason for that. In Week 2 he completed 12 of 18 passes and threw for 162 yards with one touchdown pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='415448' first='Kayden' last='Augustus'] - Blue Valley North, 5'10”, 175, RB, Class of ‘27

Augustus' Week 2 performance helped Blue Valley North bounce back after a rough season opener. The Mustangs fed Augustus 21 carries and he went on to rush for 135 yards and one score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466492' first='Cincere' last='Lewis'] - Schlagle, 5'10”, 170, ATH, Class of ‘26

Lewis of Schlagle is a very underrated athlete out of the Kansas City, Kansas area. His all-around play helped the Schlagle Stallions pick up a big win over Wyandotte. He hit paydirt three times, with one of those scores being a 65 yarder. Lewis also came up with an interception.

[player_tooltip player_id='1891335' first='Taft' last='Stueve'] - Blue Valley, 6'3”, 230, TE, Class of ‘26

The Blue Valley Tigers came up short against Washburn Rural in Week 2. Despite that, [player_tooltip player_id='1891335' first='Taft' last='Stueve'] played a huge role during the contest. Stueve accounted for 18 of Blue Valley's 30 points, as he was responsible for two touchdowns and three two-point conversions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083570' first='Baron' last='Marshall'] - Blue Valley NW, 6'3”, 185, WR, Class of ‘28

The top ranked prospect in our Class of ‘28 rankings dominated in Blue Valley Northwest's Week 2 win. Marshall was very explosive as he turned three catches into 105 yards and two touchdowns. Through two games he's averaging 27 yards a catch.

Defense

[player_tooltip player_id='1881280' first='Brooks' last='Bayer'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1881309' first='Andrew' last='Pullen'] - Spring Hill, Class of ‘27

I didn't feature any defensive duos last week but this tandem definitely needed some recognition after their dominating performance. In Spring Hill's shutout victory over Tonganoxie, [player_tooltip player_id='1881280' first='Brooks' last='Bayer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1881309' first='Andrew' last='Pullen'] combined for 18 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and six sacks.

Brody Butler - Olathe West, 6'2”, 185, DB, Class of ‘26, Unranked

This unranked prospect was arguably the top defensive back in the state during Week 2. Brody Butler didn't allow much in the air against Blue Valley West. The senior came up with two interceptions, three pass breakups, and six total tackles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1402690' first='Kaleb' last='Peterson'] - Blue Valley NW, 63”, 235, Edge/ATH, Class of ‘26

While Marshall was making plays on offense for BVNW, Peterson was wreaking havoc on defense. Peterson racked up nine total tackles, one forced fumble, and one sack.

Specialist

[player_tooltip player_id='904439' first='Trace' last='Rudd'] - Blue Valley NW, 6'0”, 185, K, Class of ‘26

Blue Valley Northwest goes three for three in this week's Game Ball report, as Rudd represents the Huskies in the specialist department. The Oklahoma-commit was a perfect 4 for 4 on PAT's and sent six kickoffs into the end zone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113289' first='Colin' last='Zimbelman'] - Basehor-Linwood, 5'10”, 165, K, Class of ‘27

The top leg in the junior class also had a solid outing in the second week of the season. In Basehor's 27-21 win over Piper, Zimbelman connected on 3 of 4 PAT's, had four touchbacks on kickoff, and sent a punt 65 yards.
