As we get closer to the start of May I wanted to continue to preview the upcoming rankings update for the Class of ‘28. This time I'm shifting the focus to current ranked members. In the May update folks can expect to see a good amount of movement throughout the rankings. A few reasons for that is some players have an outdated ranking, and others have earned an increase. These three prospects fall into that category. Here's a breakdown of their game, and some of the progress they've made this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1814421' first='Princedakari' last='Marshall'] - Wichita East, 6'0”, 195, QB

Without giving away too much, this first prospect is set to see a significant boost in rank, and will be joining some elite company. This change is well deserved for Marshall. He was a very exciting QB to watch during the ‘25 season. Others around the state thought so as well which is why he received 6A All-State honors. He has the potential of emerging as one of the top dual-threats in Class 6A next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101928' first='Jackson' last='Curry'] - Wellington, 5'10”, 180, WR

Curry is one of two emerging wideouts in this report. Even with all the offensive firepower Wellington fielded last season, Curry managed to lead the Crusaders in receiving by a wide margin. As their top target he hauled in 44 receptions for 664 yards and four scores. He and [player_tooltip player_id='1487563' first='Colton' last='Elmore'] are sure to be one of the top connections in Class 4A once again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1802189' first='Truth' last='Pope'] - Lawrence, 6'0”, 150, WR

This second receiver may not have been his team's go-to target in 2025. However, he possesses the talent to be a contributor as a junior. Even in a limited role last season Pope of Lawrence High displayed solid hands, and had a knack of finding soft spots in coverage. In addition, Pope proved to be a willing blocker out on the perimeter. He's been working hard this offseason to become a sharper route runner, and has been invited to multiple prospect camps. I could see him helping the Chesty Lions stretch the field with an expanded role.
