Potentially the most thrilling matchup of week 3, Sioux City East entered on the road against a dominant Bishop Heelan team, who despite ranking two classes below the Black Raiders put up quite a fight. The matchup was a slugfest that went back and forth, and ultimately, neither team could gain leverage after either regulation or the first overtime period. In the second period, the Black Raiders scored 7 points first, and when the Crusaders responded with a touchdown on their own, they decided to go for the win. Ultimately, the Black Raiders stuffed the 2-point attempt, giving a spectacular victory on the road that keeps Sioux City East undefeated.

Top Performer: Chris Ford (JR) - Ford was electric on Friday night, finishing with 5 receptions for a team-high 82 yards and a receiving TD while adding 6 tackles (4 solo) and an INT on defense. However, it was his role as a returner that proved most impactful, taking both of his kick returns to the house on 99 and 91 yard scores.

Bettendorf vs. Prairie: 14-11

The last matchup between these two teams was a shootout with 95 points combined. This time around, it was the opposite, proving to be a defensive battle. Prairie led 3-0 at halftime, but thanks to several special teams' miscues and failed gambles with their play calling, the Bulldogs were able to build a 14-11 lead heading into the 4th quarter. After a missed field goal with over 4 minutes to go, Prairie had one more opportunity to drive down the field and win the game. The Hawks drove down the the Bulldogs' 30 yard line before ultimately turning the ball over on downs and solidifying Bettendorf's win against Prairie for the 3rd straight year.

Top Performer: [player_tooltip player_id='401666' first='Armon' last='Williams'] (SR) - Williams' role as a leader for the Bulldogs' defense was prevalent as he finished the night with 7 tackles (6 solo), 3.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble leading to a turnover.

Despite Cedar Falls coming into Dubuque with a lopsided history of success over the Rams, Dubuque was looking to write a different story as they emerged with a 17-7 lead at halftime. However, thanks in part to a steady, balanced offense which accumulated 331 total yards, combined with a defense that stifled the Rams with a scoreless second half, the Tigers patiently fought their way back into the game, culminating with a game-leading touchdown with under 2 minutes left in the game, giving the Tigers' their second straight win following a close loss to Iowa City Liberty in week 1.

Wolf finished 16 of 20 for 167 yards and 3 TDs while adding 23 yards on the ground on 6 carries.
