Breakout Watch: East MI Skill

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Right now, I'm full-go with scouting the class of 2027 and 2028. We're seeing a large number of these Junior and Sophomore prospects break out this season. When spring comes around, Parker could earn some offers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>His week 1-2 tape kicks off with a great block. Caught the DB flat-footed, and did a great job earning a pancake. At 0:18, we get to see Parker's playmaking skills. Quick slant, tough contested catch, and good contact balance. Great job catching that ball through the hard contact, staying balanced, and taking it to the house! Then, at 0:38, we see another great contested catch. Mossed the DB. <br>Finally, we see a bit more physicality and work after the catch. At 0:49, we see Parker work extremely hard to earn as much YAC as possible. He'll be someone that I'lll do my full homework on before the new year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He's stringing together some good games. First highlight is a good tackle against an outside run. Geonte does a solid job reading the play, then shedding the block to the outside. He's patient, and evenatually makes a good tackle, eliminating added damage. <br>At 0:35, Geonte takes advantage of the underthrow and earns an interception. Great high-point! <br>Lastly, a good route and RAC at 0:50. The results aren't there in the win column, but we can definitely see improvement. [player_tooltip player_id='1615764' first='Jae' last='Rich'] is one of those players who will push the needle. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kicking off Jae's tape is an impressive interception. His teammate tips it up, and Jae does a great job coming down with it just before the ball hits the turf. At 0:17, Jae shows off some great man coverage against a formidable WR. Real nice job getting a hand on the slight underthrow. <br>Finally, at 0:37, Jae shows off his play recognition and reaction time. Once that ball came out, Jae exploded toward the receiver. Didn't seem like the receiver was expecting the ball, but that was honestly in the receiver's best interest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I like Jae's all-around effort. The fundamentals are getting there, too. Jayden has arrived, and I'm extremely excited to see his full-season tape come November. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So far this season, Jayden is showing high-end burst, bend, and effort. Jayden's first highlight is a phenomenal rush off the edge. Jayden doesn't even get blocked- his explosiveness was enough to get into the backfield and earn a sack. Second, a pass rush that quickly turns into a sideline-to-sideline stop. Amazing reaction time- Jayden immediately changes course and explodes toward the receiver. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Of course, this is a super small sample size. Still, Jayden looks like he's living up to his ranking. Phenomenal traits, and good effort. Right off the bat, you can see the explosiveness. LJ recognizes the hole, and explodes through, barely allowing the defense to react. Blocked well, and LJ takes full advantage of the opportunity. Most RBs turn that opportunity into a 15-yard run, and LJ takes it to the house because of his superior speed. <br>Next, at 0:33, LJ does a good job following his blocks and working his way through contact. I like the contact balance quite a bit, but I feel LJ could have bounced it outside at 0:37. <br>Finally, 0:43 may be LJ's best run of the day. The play begins to fall apart, but LJ spins past a tackle, ducks another tackle, and grinds his way to an extremely difficult 10 yards. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Again, I'm really looking forward to LJ's full-season tape.
