4A-Region 11 Preview: Ridgeline

2024 record: 12-1   2025 Key Games:   Friday, August 15- Morgan Friday, August 29- at Brighton   These are key games as it'll test Ridgeline, Morgan has been an absolute monster at the lower classification and Brighton is a good measuring stick for them being a higher classification. It should be a good matchup and for Ridgeline to get battle tested early to set them up for the season. 2025 Hardest Games: Friday, October 3- at Stansbury Thursday, October 8 Green Canyon   These games could decide the region winner; the realignment made this region a lot tougher than it should be.   2025 Outlook: Ridgeline is set up for a deep postseason run and a push for 4A state title. They'll have a lot of returning production on both sides and set up to win now.   Key Players    Dahle is an exceptional passer and quick processor. He has a compact delivery, gets to his second and third reads, and throws his receivers open. He has good ball placement, is an accurate passer, and is someone who has good arm talent. He is primed for a huge final season and has the ability to get 3,600 all-purpose yards and 36 touchdowns.     Livington has good speed and footwork. He is smooth off the line, does well with subtle nuances to get open, and creates separation with ease. He has good hands and does a good job creating after the catch. He is smooth and effortless; he is someone who gets open at will. Electric playmaker.     One word best describes Krew, ELITE. He is an exceptional athlete and will impact a game on both sides of the ball. Offensively, as a big slot or an inline tight end, he shows great footwork, moves well laterally, and is strong at the catch point and displaying soft hands and a natural ball catcher. He does well creating after the catch. Make no mistake, his bread and butter is as an EDGE rusher where he is a supreme talent. Explosive off the line, brings great speed, lateral quickness, hip bend, and ultra-violent hands, that shoves a lineman's hands off him. He is someone who can get 20+ sacks and singlehandedly change a game with every snap. He's a national recruit and an elite talent. He'll be a multi-year Power Four starter and an early NFL Draft pick, with top 20 potential.     Knighton is a two-way player and is an exciting athlete. He is best as a backer, but offensively, he shows good footwork and understands zone coverages and will sit in the vacated area and display his number for his signal caller. As a backer, he has great anticipation and a good first step. He is an active backer who does well in space, will diagnose plays quickly, and will do the dirty work. He has good overall speed and is a player who is just as effective being an on-ball, attacking backer.     Cook has good size and versatility to be a boundary receiver or slide into the slot. He is twitchy and moves well laterally. He does a good job of creating separation and shows good hands. He got great experience last year and is primed for a breakout.     Richards is a good edge rusher who is active and does well off the line. He showcases a good speed rush and can use his leverage to get under his linemen. He can easily flirt with double-digit sacks this year.     Woodland is an athletic, versatile player who can be lined up anywhere. Offensively, he is used as a boundary receiver, and he does a good job of being a big-play threat when he gets snaps on that side of the ball. His home is on defense, and he is used as an off-ball backer and safety hybrid. He'll likely slot in as a defensive back at the next level, but where he is at right now, he can be lined up anywhere, and is that STAR hybrid role where he can move around pre-snap and create havoc.     Perkins has great speed for a backer and showcases good instincts and does well as the MKE role where he can dictate the defense. He is an exceptional backer who has great instincts, diagnoses quickly, can disengage from his blocks, and fly to the ball. He does a good job of slipping past blockers and making a play on the ball. His speed allows him to be an exceptional blitzing backer, and he is someone whose speed is his best asset. He is someone who is primed for 120 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, and double-digit sacks. He is a phenomenal athlete who will play at the next level.     Clark is an exceptional on ball backer and can be used as an edge rusher and can cover athletic tight ends. He'll even come in on offense and contribute that way. I like him best as an on-ball backer where he can use his speed, play strength, and quick hands to be an effective, forward pressing backer who can disrupt and create chaos. He has been exceptional since day one and is a player who will do the same this season. A big year is ahead for him.     Fiefia has done well this offseason and has been effective during the 7's event, where he showcased his hands and the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He'll contribute in the run game this year, and the room has a lot of vacated touches, and Fiefia is someone that is primed to take on a big chunk of that, he potentially has a big year ahead for him.     Hammond is one of, if not the best, linemen in his region. He has great size, can play any position along the line. He has good footwork, moves well laterally, is light on his feet, and is an effective puller if needed. He is good at both pass protection and run blocking; he is an exceptional lineman.
