Our August rankings update was more about adding players than moving players, but there were still several players who rose in the rankings. Here, I'm breaking down the running backs who moved up. Who are this update's RB stock-risers?

Opportunity often brings talent to the forefront and Howard is one of the biggest beneficiaries of roster turnover at the position. Howard is replacing a 1,000-yard rusher and we expect his carries to double in 2025. He has good speed, and the ability to keep his legs moving.

McCullers is a different type of runner than a lot of the other guys on this list and I really like that. More of a slasher, he's not going to put up as many explosive runs as some of the other guys, but he's also rarely getting dragged down for a minimal gain. He can consistently rack up six or seven yards a touch and he's one of the best receivers out of the backfield in the state.

Davis is a massive back with easy long speed that shows up on film. At times, it doesn't look like he even has to run at full speed to blow by the second and third level of the defense. He holds the ball high like plenty of bigger backs of old and that goes along with his old-school running style. He's in a unique offense at a lower level, but he's easily a Division I guy in our book.

Campbell is a massive, but compact running back with good pad level and solid speed. A two-way player, his future is at the running back position when he can bully defenders and run over players. His leg drive is impressive, but perhaps even better is that he doesn't seek out contact. If he can get around guys and maintain full speed, he will.

Wingate's move to Maiden could really help his recruiting stock and I think it will be an overall positive for the rising senior. A workhorse back, Wingate has enough speed to stretch the defense and pick up chunks of yardage when he gets to the second level and his contact balance is among the best in the class.

Lamb was our biggest mover across the entire 2026 class in this update regardless of position. After reviewing the tape again, we came away impressed with his vision and burst and believe this could be another huge year for the senior. Wallace-Rose Hill plays in an intriguing 3A classification and Lamb could factor heavily into the storyline of that level this season.
