Howard is peaking at exactly the right time, and it’s showing in the way he’s carrying Havelock’s young offense through the postseason. The senior back powered the Rams with 180+ rushing yards and a touchdown, consistently moving the chains and setting the tone with his physical, disciplined running style. His vision and burst allowed him to control the pace of the game, while his veteran presence provided the steadying force this young unit needs in high-pressure moments. If Havelock is going to make another deep playoff run, Howard is clearly the engine capable of driving them there.

Havelock | 2026 StateNC is emerging as a dynamic force in Havelock’s backfield, and this Friday, he’ll have the chance to showcase his skills on one of the biggest stages—the crosstown rivalry against New Bern.
Howard is a powerful, downhill runner who’s tough to stop once he gains momentum. In the season opener, he had a 40-yard touchdown run called back, but his ability to break tackles and hit the hole at full speed makes him a constant threat to find the end zone. Havelock will need every bit of that explosiveness if they plan to come out on top in this heated rivalry game.
As New Bern brings its physical defense to the field, Howard will be the key for Havelock to establish the run game and control the clock.
Opportunity often brings talent to the forefront and Howard is one of the biggest beneficiaries of roster turnover at the position. Howard is replacing a 1,000-yard rusher and we expect his carries to double in 2025. He has good speed, and the ability to keep his legs moving.
Jayden came into this camp with a reported 3.9 GPA as well as a 4.5 40-yard dash time, so he was a player to definitely keep an eye on. Playing for a talented program and behind some talented seniors last season, Jayden was able to contribute and show that he can handle what will definitely be an increased workload this year. Jayden used his speed and strong agility to win consistently in 1 on 1’s against linebackers at this camp. I liked what he showed as well previously at the Gardner Webb camp, and with a strong start to the season, I can see college programs showing a lot of interest this fall & throughout the season.
I was impressed with Howard at our Prep Redzone Showcase and it sent me back to the film. He got overshadowed a bit last year by the state’s leading receiver and a 2000-yard rusher, but those guys are gone this season, and Havelock’s offense has shown no signs of slowing down in recent years. That means Howard, who has great contact balance and shiftiness, could have a monster senior season.
