Chris Bispham (DL, Havelock, Senior) has been one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the state and his commitment to James Madison University proves colleges have taken notice. Through the first half of the season, Bispham has racked up 36 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks, showing his ability to both disrupt the backfield and shut down running lanes. His quickness off the line and relentless motor make him nearly unblockable, forcing opponents to game plan around him. Bispham anchors the Rams’ defensive front and is the unquestioned leader in the trenches. The 2026 James Madison commit combines size, strength, and a relentless motor that makes him tough to block. Last week, Havelock’s defense allowed just one score, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Heading into this week, Bispham’s impact at the line of scrimmage will be critical if the Rams want to bounce back and set the tone for the rest of their season.

I think Bispham actually lives at the gym, because he just always seems to be there, based on conversations I’ve had with coaches and other players. He’s gotten both bigger and faster this offseason and leads a Havelock defensive line that could make some real noise this season.

Bispham is a big, strong, and athletic interior force who continues to solidify his reputation as one of the top defensive linemen in the state. During 1-on-1s, he was explosive off the ball and consistently created mismatches with his power and quickness. His combination of size, speed, and strength makes him nearly unblockable at times and a nightmare for opposing offensive linemen.

Bispham’s film is excellent, but I continue to hear huge things from those who see him every day. From players and coaches he trains with to other scouts, the feedback I’m getting on Bispham is overwhelmingly positive. Despite playing primarily on the edge in odd fronts, Bispham is likely a college three-technique who shows promise with both power and speed moves. The pass-rushing upside is great and I would not be surprised if he started to receive more Power Four attention.

During the 2024–25 season, Bispham recorded 106 total tackles, including 69 solo tackles, 14 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. His performance ranked him 240th nationally for sacks, 25th in North Carolina, and 2nd in Class 3A East. ECU Commit

Christopher was the anchor on the Havelock defensive line Friday night. The Rams had given up 3 big plays during the first half that the visiting Scots took full advantage of and actually held the lead for a good portion of the first half. Midway during the 2nd quarter and the remainder of the game, it was an entirely different story. Bispham and the Rams held Scotland County out the endzone and he racked up 9 tackles 2 hurries and 3 tackles for loss.

Chris has been one of the most productive defensive linemen from across the entire state. He enters the 3rd round of the playoffs with 90 total tackles and an eye popping 14 sacks! The 6’2 nearly 300lb jr is nearly impossible to block one on one, and is equally disruptive against the run and pass.
