Lloyd Jones Lloyd Jones 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB/WR Havelock | 2029 State NC is one of the top freshmen to come out of the 252 from last season, and Havelock may have another Power 4 prospect on their hands. Standing over 6 feet and close to 200 pounds, Jones brings an impressive blend of size, strength, and speed. He accounted for 9 total touchdowns as a freshman and proved to be a true all-purpose back.
A physical runner with big-play ability, Jones is a name to remember—don’t be surprised if his first Division I offer comes before the season even kicks off.

We’re not married to the idea of ranking Jones as a running back; we just think it’s his best position right now. He contributed all over the field for Havelock as a freshman, providing a spark for an offense that had some uncharacteristic early-season struggles. He lined up in the slot and the backfield, returned kicks, and flashed as a box safety with a sack, interception, and three pass deflections. He already looks like the most athletic player on the field, and certainly doesn’t look like a freshman, physically.

A glance at Jones’ stat line shows he’s doing more as a receiver than a rusher, but that’s a bit misleading. He’s done a ton of damage on pop passes off jet motion. Havelock loves to get him moving in a direction. He’s a big athlete who can break tackles with ease. Expect him to take over as the lead guy next year. The multi-sport athlete is one of the best players in the state and a potential top skill player.

Havelock is used to moving up and down the field on offense, but has struggled to find consistency on offense this season. But Jones may be changing that. Primarily a running back, he’s had a bigger impact as a receiver this season, as he had 59 yards and two touchdown catches last time out in a win. He’s a bigger freshman, and we could see him becoming either the next great Havelock back or a crafty receiver.
