Brownsburg High School (Ind.) is coming off an incredible 2024 season. With the exception of a 30-23 loss to Hamilton Southeastern on Oct. 18, the Bulldogs won every game of the 2024 season, culminating with a 22-17 state championship victory over Westfield.

The Bulldogs can undoubtedly repeat as state champions in 2025 as they look to defend their title, not only this season but perhaps even next season too, as the team's core players are 2027 prospects. Here are three reasons why they could repeat as state champions:

They have a very good quarterback.

[player_tooltip player_id='709552' first='Oscar' last='Frye'] led Brownsburg last season as a sophomore and he will be even better in 2025. With another offseason of development, his upside is through the roof. He was 159-234 and threw for 2,510 yards and 25 touchdowns last year with just six interceptions. It is likely that he will be even better this fall.

They are talented at the skill positions and offensive line.

Brownsburg won the Indianapolis Colts 11-On 7-on-7 tournament two weeks ago and for good reason. Wide receivers [player_tooltip player_id='649033' first='Avin' last='Robinson'] (a Central Michigan commit) and [player_tooltip player_id='1429135' first='Branden' last='Sharpe'] are playmakers with huge upside. Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1664902' first='Nick' last='Vecrumba'] anchors the Bulldogs' offensive line, enabling them to win in the trenches.

They return big-time players on defense.

Defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1664899' first='Dami' last='Sowunmi'] returns as a rising junior and anchors the bulldogs on the defensive side of the ball. Class of 2026 defensive back Kameron Williams is a very under-the-radar recruit. At 6-foot-2, 168 pounds, he showed at the 11 On tournament that he can be an outstanding defender on the perimeter.
