It's starting to become the norm where high level players transfer to new programs during the off-season and for this cycle, we had a lot of guys switch to new uniforms. There are several prospects listed below that can make immediate impacts this season towards helping their respective programs compete for a state title.

Quarterbacks

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1699904' first='Jaevion' last='Elliott'] - Blackman (From Rockvale)

- It's been a revolving door over the past few years at quarterback for Blackman but they might have found some stability with the recent addition of Elliott. This dual threat signal caller quietly had a solid season last year at Rockvale, showing upside to be even better this Fall with a more talented roster around him.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1207773' first='Jonathan' last='Hamby'] - Rockvale (From Blackman)

- We could have had an actual trade between Blackman and Rockvale as they exchanged quarterbacks with Hamby coming in to take over the lead role. This off-season has been good for Hamby, where he has shown improved arm power and play recognition. Maybe a change of scenery could be good for Hamby and the Rockets.

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='902986' first='Hudson' last='Holman'] - FRA (From Pope Prep)

- It's different pastures ahead for Holman as he transferred within the Mid-Tennessee region from Pope Prep to Franklin Road Academy. His addition may be the missing ingredient towards a possible state title for the Panthers. Holman has a year of starting experience under his belt with two years of eligibility remaining under center for FRA.

https://twitter.com/VisionQb/status/1878152206769180766

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1104293' first='Blake' last='Waldorf'] - Friendship Christian (From Watertown)

- Waldorf made the decision to transfer his talents to a bigger program this off-season and it's a definite welcome addition by the Commanders, who needed a quarterback. This junior passer put up big numbers during his time at Watertown and is hoping to do the same with Friendship Christian, who likes to run the ball but may open up the passing game with Waldorf's addition.

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1590252' first='Austin' last='Jones'] - Red Bank (From Chatt. Prep)

- Several new players made their way to Red Bank this off-season with Jones being the latest and probably it's most important. A dual threat guy that has improved his passing this off-season, Jones has a chance to be a difference maker with the Lions and a sleeper candidate to contend for Mr. Football over the next two years.

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1142033' first='Sam' last='Bradley'] - Cascade (From Webb School)

- Bradley has had to sit back and bide his time before being the starting guy behind center but it looks like he will finally get his chance after transferring this off-season to Cascade. This 6 '1 junior shows throughout his clips that the talent is there to do some big things with the Champions in his two years with them while also boosting his overall recruiting stock.

‘28 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1036114' first='Cayden' last='Dixon'] - Father Ryan (From Briarcrest Christian)

- Moving up to Nashville from the greater Memphis area, Dixon has a shot to run the show at Father Ryan for the next three years and turn himself into one of the top quarterback recruits out of his 2028 class. What Dixon brings to the field is high football intelligence, a talented right arm and maturity beyond his years that should help him become the starting guy this Fall season and beyond.

‘28 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1219525' first='Peyton' last='Wireman'] - Shelbyville (From Cascade)

- The Golden Eagles brought in their future quarterback here with Wireman, who should take over the starting role this Fall and keep it over the next three years. This incoming sophomore shows flashes of arm talent that could one day find its way into the college game. He needs further development but Wireman has the tools to put up a lot of production with the Golden Eagles.

- - - - - - - - -

Running Backs

(RB) [player_tooltip player_id='806042' first='Jayzon' last='Thompson'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- One of the top ball carriers from our #TN2026 class made the move to Anderson Co. this off-season and his addition might prove to be the difference maker in the Mavs taking home the “Gold Ball.” Thompson brings big play abilities to his position that should also provide balance to the Mavs offense. If he remains healthy, Thompson could be in consideration for Mr. Football by season's end.

(RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1597256' first='Lorenz' last='Wright'] - Memp. Biz. Academy (From Memp. East)

- Starring last season as a junior at Memphis East, Wright moved down to the 2A level with Memphis. Business Academy this year where he will share carries in what could be the best backfield duo in the city. Wright is small but packs a punch with his physical running style. He's a good athlete too that can cause problems with his ability to catch passes out of the backfield.

(RB) [player_tooltip player_id='492601' first='Caden' last='Stroud'] - Goodpasture (From Davidson Academy)

- This was an interesting off-season move as Stroud was already set as the starting running back at Davidson Academy and he should remain the starter at Goodpasture but he might have been in a better situation as his previous school. We shall see how this move plays out but either way, the Cougars add a 1,000 yard rusher and someone the offense can build around.

‘27 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1260912' first='Harold' last='Marshall III'] - Kirkwood (From Clarksville Academy)

- Marshall was already new to the state of Tennessee before going into the 2025 season but has switched schools this off-season by moving from Clarksville Academy over to Kirkwood. His addition to the Cobras backfield could be huge as he joins a current senior that is on the college radar to form a powerful duo to build their offense around.

‘27 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1635443' first='Nate' last='Zimmerman'] - Cascade (From Shelbyville Central)

- The Champions made several strong moves this off-season to boost their offense and Zimmerman is one of those key pieces. This physical runner would have gained carries this year at Shelbyville but now being at Cascade, Zimmerman should be the number one guy and one of their top overall players that could play his way into Mr. Football consideration.

https://twitter.com/nzimmerman20/status/1853287095122403645

- - - - - - - - -

Receivers

(WR) [player_tooltip player_id='820949' first='Brayden' last='Carroll'] - Bradley Central (From Cleveland)

- Transferring to a regional foe, Carroll comes into Bradley Central with hype around his name but has yet to make a college commitment. Maybe with a different coaching staff and new players around him, this 6'2 pass catcher can push his game and stock to another level. If he is able to do so, Carroll could play his way into a D1 opportunity.

(WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1103005' first='Corben' last='Reynolds'] - Riverdale (From Loretto)

- One of the better small town talents is no longer on the lower level as Reynolds made the move this off-season to transfer from Loretto up to Riverdale and the 6A playing stage. This could prove to be a big time decision for Reynolds as he will now get to showcase his abilities against top level competition and how he performs could force college coaches to look hard

(WR) [player_tooltip player_id='244591' first='Eli' last='Bell'] - Page (From Forrest)

- Ranked just inside our senior Top 300, Bell will finish out his high school career with Page, a 5A power that has been on the threshold of winning a state title. The addition of Bell at receiver could prove to be a difference maker for the Patriots as he brings explosive, big play abilities and versatility. I like Bell for running back in college but he does have the skill set to develop as a slot receiver as well.

(WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1142034' first='Taylen' last='Vaughn'] - Ravenwood (From Centennial)

- Bringing in Vaughn to handle the slot role within the Raptors offense I think was a good move. This undersized but athletic and quick pass catcher brings big play abilities to Ravenwood as well as upside to handle a role on special teams as well. His addition adds depth and more balance to a Raptors offense that could be high scoring and special during the 2025 season.

‘27 (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1691433' first='Carter' last='Kilburg'] - MBA (From Lipscomb Academy)

- A sneaky good move this off-season was Kilburg moving over to MBA, where he will add a big, physical pass catcher that also makes the Big Red receiving corps much deeper and talented. This junior receiver has come on strong this off-season with his development and turned himself into a Top 100 ranked prospect by Prep Redzone Tennessee.

https://twitter.com/kilburgcarter/status/1944862861274087656

- - - - - - - - -

Offensive Line

(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1218536' first='Jeremy' last='George'] - Knox. Catholic (From Webb School)

- The Fighting Irish made several moves this off-season to boost their roster with George being one of the best. This Top 100 ranked senior by #PRZTN is one of the better interior athletic blockers we have in this class that brings versatility to the O-line. He is being viewed in college at center but George has the athletic tools and size to play guard or right tackle as well.

(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='402531' first='Charles' last='Humphrey Jr.'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- When you are good on the offensive line, you have a shot at winning championships. Adding a guy like Humphrey immediately pushes the Mavs title stock higher as he provides great size (6'7 295) up front along with someone that can handle the blindside. There is more development needed for Humphrey but his size alone makes things a lot better on the O-line for the Mavs offense.

(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1592103' first='Xavier' last='Johnson'] - East Nashville (From McGavock)

- Johnson recently made the decision to move schools and transfer to East Nashville. This may prove to be a huge pickup by the Eagles, who were already in position to contend for a 2A title but adding Johnson pushes their chances even higher. This guy is a long term, possible big payoff prospect as he has the athleticism and size to find a starting role at tackle in college.

https://twitter.com/xavierJ54/status/1876759512293442026

(OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1695364' first='Sloan' last='Bass'] - Page (From Lipscomb Academy)

- The Patriots were set to have a top notch offensive line for the 2025 season but it got even better with the off-season addition of Bass. Coming over from Lipscomb Academy, this 6'3 junior O-lineman is an athletic guy that moves well but also provides versatility up front where he can handle all three interior O-line positions.

‘27 (OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1154143' first='Ben' last='Hale'] - CPA (From MTCS)

- The Lions were already set to have one of the better O-line's in the state headed into the 2025 season but it got even better with the off-season addition of Hale. This junior big man is highly talented with a skill set to play either tackle or guard in college. It will be interesting to see where the Lions staff plays him and how he develops against better competition.

‘27 (OL) [player_tooltip player_id='1643231' first='Eli' last='Tolley'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- Another new addition to the Mavericks offensive line is this 6'2 interior blocker that could develop in college at either center or guard. Tolley is a gritty, physical lineman that plays much bigger compared to his 6 '2 size but is also a savvy blocker that does well moving laterally, showing pass protection upside. The Mavs get this guy for two years and being under this coaching staff, Tolley could turn into a legit college prospect.

- - - - - - - - - -

Defensive Line/Edge

(DL) [player_tooltip player_id='927765' first='A.J.' last='Westfield'] - Bradley Central (From Cleveland)

- Another former Blue Raider is headed over to their rival in Bradley Central with Westfield being a massive addition to the Bears defensive line. Recently committing to Tulane, Westfield is a disruptor that shows one of the best motors from our #TN2026 class and someone that consistently gets into the backfield due to his max effort game play.

(DL) [player_tooltip player_id='1218538' first='Issiaga' last='Yattara'] - Knox. Catholic (From Webb School)

- Another Webb School lineman is headed to Knox. Catholic with the Fighting Irish staff looking to use Yattara on both sides of the line. This 6'5 big man is still raw and developing but the upside is strong. I have him pinpointed as a D-lineman in college but I could easily see where he could become an O-lineman as well due to his athleticism and size.

‘27 (DT) [player_tooltip player_id='1703375' first='Braylon' last='Warren'] - Collierville (From Olive Branch, MS)

- The Dragons coaching staff brought in several new players this off-season with Warren possibly being the best addition. This 6'2 defensive lineman could develop himself into one of the better D-Tackle prospects from our #TN2027 class with a strong junior season. His athleticism and physicality should allow Warren to make impact this season and a force many opposing teams will have a hard time dealing with.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1178947' first='Cohen' last='Grissom'] - Page (From Forrest)

- Grissom could prove to be one of the biggest off-season additions during this cycle as he has a chance to make a major impact on the Patriots defense while boosting his overall recruiting stock. Some of the best athleticism and speed from our #TN2026 resides here with Grissom and I still feel he has another level to his game, so the future is bright with this guy.

https://twitter.com/CohenGrissom25/status/1930415894351524254

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='402538' first='Ethan' last='Hill'] - Powell (From Bearden)

- Hill may prove to be one of the biggest off-season additions through the transfer portal this year. This undersized but fearless edge rusher simply knows how to get into the backfield and do so on a consistent basis. Being with Powell for his senior season, it might be the change of scenery needed for Hill to have his best season yet and take his recruiting stock to another level.

(Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1588093' first='Jesse' last='Zachary'] - Anderson Co. (From Oneida)

- Out of all the off-season additions made by Anderson County, Zachary may prove to be the biggest difference maker of them all. He looks to go both ways at tight end and edge rusher but it will be his defensive work that makes the biggest impact. This East-TN talent gets off the snap well then closes fast, usually with controlled violence.

‘27 (Edge) [player_tooltip player_id='1207775' first='Julius' last='Malden'] - Riverdale (From Blackman)

- Moving across town to a regional foe, Maulden is a great pickup by the Warriors as he brings a high ceiling with a ton of upside to the playing field. Tall and long with a frame that can pack on tons of weight, Maulden is still developing but shows some of the best pure athleticism from our #TN2027 edge rusher class. Look for this junior defender to a potential breakout junior season with the Warriors.

- - - - - - - - - -

Linebackers

(LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1206237' first='Arkez' last='Fontenot'] - Pearl Cohn (From Glencliff)

- Fontenot has bounced around a little over the past two years but it looks like he has settled at Pearl Cohn for his senior year. This athletic defender brings a versatile skill set to the field where he can play in coverage but also work near the line against the run. His athleticism should flourish well on the Firebirds defense and potentially build his recruiting stock further.

(LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1281467' first='Marcus' last='Brown'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- Brown should be a good addition to the Mavericks defensive front seven this Fall as he brings a versatile skill set that will allow him to rush the backfield or play in coverage. His athleticism will be an added plus for the Mavs defensive coaching staff because they can utilize his skill set in different ways, which should give the defense as a whole more flexibility.

(LB/S) [player_tooltip player_id='1603958' first='Justis' last='Haggard'] - Oakland (From Columbia Central)

- The Patriots were already set to have a solid defense for the 2025 season but it got even better with the off-season addition of Haggard. This Mid-TN product is a versatile piece that fits the college role of “Star” as a guy that does well in the box but provides enough athleticism to work in pass coverage as well. He should handle those duties for his senior season at Oakland while potentially providing snaps at running back too.

‘27 (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1512542' first='Khori' last='Faulkner'] - Baylor (From Houston)

- A late addition to the transfer portal, Faulkner made the decision to continue his high school career with Baylor and continue developing his game to become one of the best linebackers coming out of our #TN2027 class. This was a good add by the Red Raiders as Faulkner is an athletic guy that can do a variety of things on the football field from stopping the run or playing in pass coverage.

‘27 (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='966034' first='Noah' last='Gaylor'] - Clinton (From Campbell Co.)

- Gaylor is an under the radar talent from our #TN2027 class that might rise the rankings in our next update due to upside but also his off-season move to Clinton. Standing 6 '3 190 plus pounds, Gaylor has the frame and overall size to make his way to the college game but needs to show further improvement with his game during the upcoming season.

https://twitter.com/GaylorNoah/status/1932506068313104545

- - - - - - - - - -

Defensive Backs

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='402532' first='Chaston' last='Smith'] - Knox. Catholic (From McCallie)

- One of the top overall prospects from our senior class is headed back to Knoxville for his senior year, joining a talented Catholic club that is starting to look like a championship caliber team. Smith immediately grabs a starting spot in the Catholic secondary but at which position will he handle the most. Look for the future Notre Dame commit to play outside at corner and lockdown opposing team's top receiver.

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='816053' first='Keshawn' last='Mills'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- Yet another former Bearden player is headed to Anderson Co. and it's a good one in Mills, who will add athleticism and size to the Mavericks secondary. This is a college level player that can play several positions on the back end with his biggest upside coming at safety. His athleticism immediately makes the Mavs secondary better and someone that can provide solid work versus the run.

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='853131' first='Spencer' last='Makuch'] - Bradley Central (From Walker Valley)

- This is a D1, FCS talent that has yet to break through on the recruiting scene but hopefully after a strong senior year with Bradley Central, that will change. Makuch is an athletic ball hawk that plays fast and hard but also sports high football intelligence that tends to put him around the ball on a consistent basis. I think the Bears safety is vastly underrated and could be a steal for whoever signs him.

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1637994' first='Dominick' last='Hamer'] - Antioch (From Hillsboro)

- The Bears already had a solid secondary returning for the 2025 season but it got even better with the off-season addition of this versatile defender that enjoys hitting people. Hamer is an athletic, instinctive guy that breaks on the ball quickly then finishes with violence. He is a little undersized with weight but shows the athletic abilities and tenacity to find a role on the next level.

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1646196' first='Jayden' last='Frazier'] - Marion Co. (From Webb School)

- Frazier is one of the more underrated players currently from our #TN2026 class that immediately makes the Warriors defense better with someone that could lock down one side of the field. This is an aggressive ball player that shows this willingness to play in support while also having the athleticism to handle man to man coverage on the outside. He is versatile too as Frazier could play CB, NB or safety.

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1316604' first='Trent' last='Buchanan'] - Green Hill (From West Creek)

- Transferring into the Hawks from the greater Clarksville area, Buchanan has a chance to boost his stock in a major way and help the Green Hill defense become one of best not just in their region but the entire state. Buchanan brings experience but size and an athletic skill set to the Hawks secondary that could be used at either cornerback or safety while being a key piece on special teams as well.

https://twitter.com/3Trent_Buchanan/status/1924872102697476476

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1417875' first='Chris' last='Green'] - Boyd Buchanan (From Tyner Academy)

- The Bucs appear geared to chase down the D2-Class AA state title this year, so adding a guy like Green to their defense certainly boosts their chances at accomplishing that goal. This versatile defensive piece brings athleticism and size to the field that allows him to play both versus the run and in coverage against the pass. It will be interesting to see how Green is used this Fall within the Bucs defensive scheme.

‘27 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1642438' first='Romel' last='Koon, Jr'] - Brentwood Academy (From Chatt. Prep)

- Koon, Jr is taking a big jump in competition with his move from Chatt. Prep but this guy is talented and well equipped to hold his own within the D2-Class AAA ranks. Holding several P4 offers in hand, Koon, Jr has built some great buzz for himself this off-season as he shows college upside to play cover corner while also having the versatility to handle safety as well.

‘27 (S) [player_tooltip player_id='1585726' first='Kenneth' last='Simon'] - Brentwood Academy (From Bearden)

- Sporting great size (6'2 195) with a versatile skill set, Simon moves from out East to the Mid-TN region to continue his high school career with the Eagles and it's a big addition to a defense that could be quite good for the ‘25 season. Simon is an intriguing guy that I see as a “Star” player in college but for Brentwood Academy, he could be handling the box safety role where he can stop the run but also provide coverage on the back end as well.

‘27 (S) [player_tooltip player_id='1570551' first='Calvin' last='Maclin'] - Whitehaven (From Memp. East)

- Currently ranked as a Top 100 prospect by #PRZTN, Maclin is a strong addition to the Tigers secondary and a player that can boost his stock significantly with an exceptional junior season. This is an athletic defender that reads & reacts very well while also having the ball skills to become a ball hawk that might eventually find his way into the D1 college ranks.

‘27 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1654041' first='Marcus' last='Jones'] - Red Bank (From Chatt. Prep)

- Moving across the city to Red Bank, Jones remains in his hometown but with a new program, a bigger program that should help his game and his long term recruitment. Look for this natural athlete to shine on both sides of the ball as Jones becomes the team's top go-to target at receiver and possibly their best prospect from the secondary, who shows flashes to play cover corner.

https://twitter.com/marcusjones_j5/status/1943706458702422451

‘27 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1654042' first='V.J.' last='Heard'] - Red Bank (From Chatt. Prep)

- The Lions added another former Chatt. Prep prospect to their secondary this off-season with Heard coming in with a lot of upside and an opportunity to make a name for himself with a strong junior campaign. I see big potential with this junior defender that has nice size, natural athletic abilities and playmaking tendencies that could form into an excellent ball hawk on the back end.

‘28 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1691522' first='Quincy' last='Mills'] - Marion Co. (From Bearden)

- The Warriors did some work this off-season at boosting their secondary. Mills is an up and coming sophomore that should step into a starting role this Fall and flourish on the 2A level. This is a versatile piece that could handle cover corner duties for his Warriors defense but also certainly handle nickel or safety as well while being a key piece on special teams.

- - - - - - - - - -

Athletes

(Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='1159812' first='Deameion' last='Leavell'] - Anderson Co. (From Bearden)

- The Mavericks have a new toy to utilize here with Leavell as a player that should star on both sides of the ball and be one of the more explosive playmakers on the team. Moving over from Bearden, Leavell should now be a focal point for the Mavs coaching staff as someone they must get the ball to but also a player that can depend on to potentially lock down one side of the field from his cover corner position.

(Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='800786' first='Tory' last='Beaufort'] - Maryville (From Bearden)

- The Rebels already had a strong team returning for the 2025 season but the addition of Beaufort makes them even better, especially on offense where this East TN talent could explode for a breakout senior year. This is a gadget style offensive weapon that could be used in several ways. I expect the Rebels to use Beaufort mainly out of the slot but he should take carries at running back as well.

‘28 (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='1565598' first='Kaiden' last='Brewster'] - Meigs Co. (From McMinn Co.)

- A sneaky good pickup this off-season was Meigs Co. landing this versatile athlete that may eventually take over quarterback duties in the future. Brewster is a natural athlete with size that could develop at several positions. While the Tigers staff may be eyeing this 6'1 sophomore for quarterback, I like Brewster best in college at either receiver or safety.

- - - - -

Other Notable Transfers

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1759477' first='Malcolm' last='Jack'] - Kirby (From Bartlett)

‘27 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1646051' first='Rome' last='Duncan'] - Franklin-Grace (From Brentwood)

‘27 (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='906618' first='Levi' last='Isen'] - Ensworth (From Brentwood Academy)

(Edge/TE) [player_tooltip player_id='1647122' first='Preston' last='Huskey'] - Sevier Co. (From Bearden)

(DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1699919' first='Tramell' last='Davis, Jr'] - Red Bank (From Hixson)

‘27 (DB) Kordae Walker - Antioch (From West Creek)

‘27 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1617434' first='Mason' last='Laster'] - Alcoa (From Bearden)

‘27 (K/P) [player_tooltip player_id='1568917' first='Eli' last='Raymer'] - Columbia Central (From Hickman Co.)

https://twitter.com/PrestonHuskey44/status/1944211633645211986

It's starting to become the norm where high level players transfer to new programs during the off-season and for this cycle, we had a lot of guys switch to new uniforms. There are several prospects listed below that can make immediate impacts this season towards helping their respective programs compete for a state title.
