A rangy safety who closes quickly down the field, Brown Jr. is one of the top returning defensive backs in the area after showing playmaking ability last season as a junior. Playing on a talented Valdosta defense, the 6-foot-1 175-pounder gave the Wildcats a consistent weapon in the secondary, making 30 tackles, five TFLs, picking off two passes and taking one of them back for a touchdown. He's now ranked as the No. 57 DB prospect in the state and should have an excellent senior season this fall.

Down in Moultrie is where you'll find another versatile defensive back who can make plays at both safety and cornerback. A natural in coverage, Fuller runs well, shows fluid hips, and plays the sideline well when covering receivers on the perimeter. He's hard to create separation from and does a good job of knocking passes away. He broke up plenty of passes all season long and made it difficult for receivers to get behind him down the field. Fuller made 40 tackles on defense while also making plays on special teams. Look for him to be one of Colquitt's top defenders this fall as a senior. He's now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 59 overall prospect in the state.

A hard-hitting cornerback who can also make plays in coverage down the field, Hicks is a really good athlete who plays hard and knows how to wrap up. He's a sure-tackling defensive back who plays fast and consistently finds his way to the ball-carrier. He's dependable in coverage but his ability to step up and make a strong tackle really stood out last season. Hicks made 35 tackles and one INT while breaking up several more passes. He's now ranked in the latest update as the No. 61 defensive back prospect in the state for the 2026 class.

One of the top sleeper two-way prospects across the state in the 2026 class, Futrell is a dynamic athlete flying under the radar with terrific ball skills and a nose for the football. The 6-foot-3 180-pounder hauled in 39 passes and scored seven touchdowns on offense, and his dependable hands showed up on defense as well. A ball-hawk in the secondary, Futrell picked off an eye-opening six passes last season on defense, among the most across the state in his class. Now, he's ranked as the No. 69 DB prospect in the state and should see his ranking only rise more and more over the next several months.

Another playmaking defensive back with outstanding ball skills, Causey was a turnover machine last season for Clinch County as he picked off six passes for the Panthers as a junior last season. If the way was in the area, Causey was coming down with it. He's a sure-tackler as well, but it's his ability to make a play on the football that stood out the most last season. He's a ball magnet who can catch and pick up quick yards the other way. He's one of the more underrated defensive backs in South Georgia who is now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 70 DB prospect in the state.
