The son of head coach Pat Mallory is a tall, big and well-put-together linebacker who really shined at his college day workout. With great pursuit and range, he is a legit 6'2+ linebacker who flows to the ball well and can drop in coverage. Like Mallory, he is a #MACtion steal: Carter is a very dynamic and versatile player who is extremely good on both sides of the ball. He is a playmaker on offense and a strong coverage defensive back. Frankly, I didn't see Haney in-person until relatively later in his recruiting when he shined during Chatard's 28-24 victory over Roncalli in last fall's sectional finals. Haney is a great two-way starter and strong offensive lineman who creates lanes for tailbacks and fires forward nicely off the line of scrimmage.
