Throughout the entire month of July and into early August, I will be releasing team previews in Ohio to prepare everyone for the upcoming season and highlight key players to watch. Articles will be published frequently, so be sure to check back to see if your favorite program is featured! The Fighting Irish have two state championships in the past three years, but the sour taste resides in their mouth from last year's state final loss to Bishop Watterson. Luckily for this 2025 squad, they should be reloaded to make another run this year, and they could possibly be a better team than the 2024 Fighting Irish. With more experience in their top talent and a loss to learn a ton from in a pivotal moment, I think Toledo Central Catholic will come out firing on all cylinders. Week one will feature an intriguing matchup, as Walsh Jesuit comes into town. This Irish team will rely on ball possession and a stout defense to win games. Both sides of the trenches will be among the best in the state. The quick passing game will look to be efficient and move the chains. I'm excited to see what the offense can do, as QB [player_tooltip player_id='321724' first='Ali' last='Beydoun'] impressed in the 2024 state championship. Singleton seems to make a play on any ball thrown to him. He works well in both man and zone and is tricky to beat one-on-one. He's lengthy and uses his body well to have great positioning. A two-time track state champion in Ohio, Victor is one of the state's top athletes. He's a great athlete who can line up either as an inline tight end or out wide. He has soft hands and catches the ball well and can fight for contested balls. He has great body control and moves fluidly. He's got a great arm and showcased good zip on the ball in his film. He's quick to react to pressure and can make plays with his legs. He's got a great processor and can get off his first reads to make a play. He can flex between guard and tackle. He's a great pass protector and is strong to contact with a great anchor. He can win against both power and speed, as he is a great mover and has good footwork. He's explosive and has home run speed. He works well in the short and intermediate passing game with the expectation of creating a big play after the catch. Defensively, his athleticism shines. He's been impressing throughout camp season. He ran a 4.5 forty and recorded a 9'10 broad jump at Bowling Green in June. The explosiveness is there and he is a decisive runner. He saw split time last year at running back, but made a great impression as a kick returner. He had two kick return touchdowns last season, including one in the state championship game. He has a great frame. Amari is great with the ball in his hands and can be used in all areas of the field. He can separate well over the middle of the field and downfield with his speed. He is an experienced player, starting all 16 games at center last season. Liggons is physical and has great hands. He gets great leverage on defenders and can drive in the running game.
