Cam had an awesome game this week as he made 8 Tkl with 3 TFL and had 2 Sacks as he helped the Lakota West Firebirds to a 31-0 victory over Hamilton to improve to 2-0. He plays as an OLB. against the run, he shows great football intelligence as he quickly reads run/pass and exhibits excellent instincts and range as he takes the correct angle while playing sideline to sideline before showing very good explosiveness as he delivers a big hit behind the LOS for a TFL. Against the pass, he is quick off the ball and shows very good use of hands combined with great play strength as he quickly disengages from the OT. He plays with an excellent motor in pursuit before finishing up with a sack.

Cam is having a great season so far in 2023 as the Lakota West Firebirds are currently 4-2 and have held opposing offenses to 8.2 points per game. He plays as an OLB. Against the pass, he uses his very good play strength to quickly disengage from OT/TE doubleteam and displays good closing speed as he forces the QB to pass the ball earlier than anticipated leading to an incomplete pass. Against the run, he quickly reads run/pass and shows good instincts as he takes good angles in pursuit. He exhibits very good explosiveness as he makes the tackle near the LOS preventing a gain of significant yardage.

If someone can get on the field as a Freshman at Lakota West, you know they have some serious talent. Thomas is a dynamic linebacker. He’s extremely versatile and was used in many different ways as an outside linebacker in the Firebirds defense. He can line up on the edge and get to the QB. He can drop and cover. He’s really good in pursuit down the line of scrimmage. He’s physical when taking on blockers and plays with violent hands. He gets to the ball in a hurry and is a very fundamentally sound tackler. As Cam continues to grow and get stronger, he’s going to have a chance to really be a game wrecking type of player.
