Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: OscarGalindo30 in the coupon code area.

The Class of 2027 is officially on the board, and we are here to help put these prospects on your radar with the latest 2027 Class Rankings update! The PRZ Iowa crew hopped into the film room and evaluated hundreds of prospects to bring you our overhauled 2027 rankings, now featuring over 100 ranked players and 200+ watchlist prospects.

Now, to cover these new rankings, we are doing our breakdowns as we cover some of the top prospects in each positional group. Next position on the board is the tight ends, which is the smallest group but holds a ton of potential, including the top overall 2027 prospect, Norwalk's [player_tooltip player_id='1198816' first='Luke' last='Brewer'].

(@lukebrewer87)

Norwalk's [player_tooltip player_id='1198816' first='Luke' last='Brewer'] reclaims the title of top overall 2027 prospect in the latest update and has continued to show why he is so coveted. The 4-star prospect has already gained quite the offer list from schools like Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Toledo, and Wisconsin. At 6'5" and 220 pounds, Luke possesses the prototypical frame for a tight end at the collegiate level with the athleticism and strength to match it. Brewer is able to use this size advantage to be moved across the formation to take advantage of mismatches. He's very strong at the catch point and showed the ability to make contested catches in traffic. Brewer also showed that he can absorb contact to break off big gains after the catch. Physical player who flashes a mean streak when blocking and can clear out defenders to open up running lanes for his RBs. Solid production as a sophomore with 44 receptions, 493 yards, two receiving touchdowns, 21 tackles, seven TFLs, and four sacks. Elite prospect who will have many teams vying for his services at the next level.

(@MaxJones2027)

Central Lee's [player_tooltip player_id='1098900' first='Max' last='Jones'] jumped on our radar after a stellar PRZ showcase performance last winter, which prompted us to make sure he ended up as a ranked prospect this go around. Max is an intriguing prospect who can fit in a TE/H-back role. Jones impressed with his hands and route running, showing he can work out in space and create separation from defenders with the sure hands to haul in passes through contact. Jones also possesses good balance when battling through contact and can usually tack on extra yardage after the catch. Max is an excellent asset in the run game, showing he can be an effective lead blocker or play as an extension of the OL as an in-line TE. Solid prospect who could earn looks at several different positions.

(@Coop8_4Belitz)

Clinton's [player_tooltip player_id='1676704' first='Cooper' last='Belitz'] is a versatile pass catcher who can fit the flex TE role with his ability to play across the offensive formation. Belitz is a solid pass catcher who does a good job tracking the pass and is a very consistent "hands" receiver when the ball gets to him. Belitz showed the ability to find the soft spots in the coverage and exploit them to give his QB an open target. Cooper is very effective when attacking the short and intermediate areas of the field, where his athleticism gives him the edge over slower linebackers and smaller safeties. Expect Cooper to build on his numbers from last season after posting 19 receptions, 204 yards, and four receiving touchdowns. Under the radar prospect with a high ceiling!

(@jordan_gruhn14)

The River Kings have quite the duo of receivers to watch out for, with two rising 27 TEs. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1654034' first='Jordan' last='Gruhn'] led the offense in receiving yards last season after recording 26 receptions, 279 yards, and four receiving touchdowns. Gruhn, like Belitz, fits that flex TE role who can line up in-line, in the slot, outside, and practically anywhere. He does a good job slipping past coverage to find the small pockets in the defense. Gruhn's concentration was also impressive, as he made a few tough catches with defenders in his face. Jordan has been busy this offseason, bulking up to 205 pounds while standing at 6'3". Big-time riser potential!

(@Jammesroberts)

Muscatine's [player_tooltip player_id='1361363' first='James' last='Roberts'] is a player we've had on our radar since the end of his freshman year when he first flashed his upside. Now, it looks like James could be set up to take on a bigger role in the Muskies' offense. James has a great frame for the tight end position at 6'5" and 200 pounds, with room to continue packing on muscle in the next couple of seasons. We don't have a ton of film on him, but in the clips available, he displayed strong hands at the catch point and can use his size to take advantage of mismatches. James could also see a bigger role on the defensive line after playing there for the Muscatine reserve team. James has the tools and open opportunities to turn some heads this fall.

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
