One of the top tight ends in the 2026 recruiting cycle nationally, [player_tooltip player_id='1221928' first='Evan' last='Jacobson'] remains without a home at this moment in time. With a top four of Iowa State, Stanford, Texas A&M and Notre Dame, the Waukee product will have his options, with an in-state school, two top-tier educational opportunities and the chance to play in the SEC. A big, smooth-moving athlete, Jacobson has a wide catch-radius that allows him to make plays and serve as a good blocker.

Primed for a big senior year, Jacobson posted 20 catches for 198 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Warriors.

A deep threat that can find holes in the zone and make plays in the open field off receiver screens, [player_tooltip player_id='283945' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] is one of the more dynamic receivers in the state. At 6'1" and 175 pounds, he's not a bona fide X-receiver, slot or possession receiver and can serve an offense as more of a jack of all trades type pass-catcher.

One of the most productive receivers in the 5A last season, Brown caught 42 passes for 626 yards and six scores. With the graduation of Xzavion Robinson, who is headed to Iowa State, he'll have the chance at a major breakout campaign this fall. Thus far, Brown holds offers from Illinois State, Northern Iowa, Western Illinois, South Dakota, North Dakota, South Dakota State and North Dakota State.

The third-straight Des Moines-area metro product and the No. 14 prospect in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1241376' first='Colton' last='McClish'] is another available target in the state's 2026 class. A mean, bulldozing left guard that already stands at 6'3" and 320 pounds, McClish isn't super explosive or necessarily a freak athlete, but once he gets off the ball and gets a head of steam, watch out. McClish knows how to overwhelm opposing defensive linemen with his size.

By choosing a program that emphasizes the weight room and getting off the ball, McClish has the chance to be a staple on an FCS offensive line for several years.

He holds D1 offers from St. Thomas, Drake and Northern Iowa, while D2 schools like Augustana, Sioux Falls, Northwest Missouri State, Wayne State, Minnesota State and Bemidji State have offered, as well.

Despite being one the lone small-school prospect on this list, [player_tooltip player_id='1358226' first='Logan' last='Lashbrook'] stands out from his teammates at Janesville as the best athlete, far and away. A tight end and defensive line hybrid for the Wildcats, he could play either position at the next level.

Part of a run-heavy offense, Lashbrook is a solid blocker with a strong base and the size to handle pass-rushers off the edge. At 6'5" and 230 pounds, his frame is an excellent start to work with at the next level. If given more opportunities through the air this season, he has the chance to be much more consistently productive in 2025 after posting just five catches for 154 yards and three scores last fall.

On the defensive line, Lashbrook put together a monster junior year, finishing with 44 tackles and leading his squad in sacks (five) and tackles-for-loss (14.5). A state-champion rugby player, the soon-to-be senior likes to play a physical brand of football.

A tall linemen that played a bit on both sides of the OL for SEP last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1221954' first='Cael' last='Roberts'] has learned winning habits with the Rams, who have won the last four 5A state championships in Iowa.

Roberts' ranking here as the No. 7 OL/DL and No. 17 overall prospect in Iowa is more telling of the talent the state has to offer than anything. With his size and fluid movement, Roberts should easily have more offers than he does. With major upside as blocker that does more than just his initial assignment or simply blocking who he's matched up against across the line of scrimmage, Roberts is a D1-caliber OT that still has room to fill out on his frame.

He holds offers from Northern Iowa and Grandview.

A three-sport athlete that also runs track and plays basketball, [player_tooltip player_id='1234337' first='Mason' last='Goering'] has played a mixture of quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back for Iowa City West.

Goering missed all of last season and didn't record any stats, but was a versatile weapon for the Trojans in 2023. His last full season, Goering posted 12 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown offensively to go with 24 tackles and two interceptions on defense. Standing at 6'5" and 190-pounds, his frame lends itself to being a pass-catcher at the next level.

After some strong camp appearances at wide receiver and tight end this fall, Goering holds offers from Sioux Falls and Upper Iowa, while also receiving interest from Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, North Dakota State and others.

A starter at right guard and on the defensive line for Davenport Central, [player_tooltip player_id='1692280' first='Trateris' last='Watson']'s size stands out, similarly to that of McClish. At 6'4" and 315 pounds entering his senior season, the Davenport Central product is an imposing presence on the defensive line.

With his height, Watson could play a three-tech defensive tackle position, or plug holes on the defensive line and stop the run game as a one-tech or zero-tech DT. He'll need to get more explosive and violent at the point of attack, but a college program should be able to bring that out of him. He'll want to add some more mobility to his size, as well.

The top running back in the state of Iowa's 2026 recruiting class, [player_tooltip player_id='401669' first='Daniel' last='Larmie'] of Ankeny is a "see hole, hit hole" type of running back, reminiscent of Iowa junior tailback, Jaziun Patterson. Being an opposing tackler or safety waiting for Larmie to reach you isn't fun, as he is more than willing to put his head down and drive his weight into would-be tacklers.

Now significantly larger at 5'9" and 185 pounds according to Bound, Larmie plays larger than his size, and he always looks ready to hit somebody with the ball in his hands. He can grow in terms of his agility and shiftiness as a runner, as well as developing his breakaway speed, but Larmie has the tools to grow in both respects.

On 186 carries last season, Larmie took the ball for 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns. He holds an offer from NAIA Grandview, who would be getting a steal. He's also received interest from Western Illinois, South Dakota State, Lindenwood, Minnesota and others.

Watching [player_tooltip player_id='1234328' first='Lloydson' last='Nyenow Jr']. on film, it's easy to walk away thinking "that's different." Nyenow is a big-bodied wideout that can get open down the field, make some ridiculous catches (nabbed a deep ball out of the air despite triple-coverage in the first clip of his Hudl, attached below).

He's not super quick off the ball and some of his catches are wide open, but the numbers speak for themselves with a prospect like Nyenow. In just seven-and-a-half games played last season, he finished as the team's leading receiver far and away, putting together 37 catches for 724 yards and seven touchdowns.

At this point, Nyenow holds offers from UNI, Lindenwood, Minnesota State and Upper Iowa.

His ball-skills are flat-out impressive, and anyone who gets his commitment should be thrilled with what they're getting. He could play receiver or tight end at the next level.

Returning after leading Valley to a 5A runner-up finish in 2024, [player_tooltip player_id='401870' first='Drake' last='DeGroote'] will look to improve his own stats from 2024. The No. 1 quarterback in the state, DeGroote played with a barrage of weapons last season in Robinson, Brown and recently-committed to Louisville, [player_tooltip player_id='283946' first='Jayden' last='McGregory']. Bringing back Brown and McGregory, DeGroote will look to top his 66.7% completion percentage (138-of-207) for 1,816 yards, 24 touchdowns and just nine interceptions last season.

A tad slight of frame, DeGroote still possesses the ability to throw the ball accurately for 50+ yards, showing off his arm strength. By adding weight to his frame, DeGroote's already solid mechanics should allow him to continue to throw a nice deep ball.

A willing and capable runner that can break tackles, make something out of nothing and throw the ball on the move, DeGroote also took 64 carries for 212 yards and four touchdowns last season.

With D2 offers from Northwest Missouri State, Minnesota State, Upper Iowa and Sioux Falls, DeGroote could be on the precipice of receiving FCS offers this fall with another productive season. He's received interest from UNI, Drake, Western Illinois, Lindenwood and others.
