I wasn't lying when I said the QBs were incredibly hard to rank. We have a good number of QBs with Division 1 offers, but these rankings aren't based on offers; it's based on my opinion of these guys. The fact of the matter is that most of the 2027 QBs are unproven. There are also a handful of QBs who I feel are underrated, and if I'm being honest, a few that are overrated. Lastly, you'll notice that the top of this QB class is ranked very low. That is by design!

Here's my reasoning for where five of these QBs are ranked. This article incudes my QB1, and four other QBs who I feel are a little underrated.

Kendall is my QB1. As I said in the intro, these QB rankings will likely change quite a bit in the next six months. For now, Kendall is the guy that I'm most confident in.

The new Belleville QB1 has good tape, and he's been working his tail off all offseason. I view Kendall primarily as a pocket passer. I like his mechanics, I like his accuracy, and I feel great about Kendall leading Belleville very deep into the playoffs.

All of the QBs (including Kendall) have an opportunity to prove it at the Varsity level. Let's see if Kendall can go out there and defend his #1 position ranking!

Alex settles in as my QB4.

So much improvement in a year. Fixed his mechanics, improved his accuracy, gotten more athletic, and more. I feel that Alex's existing Varsity experience will serve him incredibly well this coming season.

What makes me even more confident in Alex is the offseason he's had. A ton of camps, a ton of workouts, and just a high level of consistency that I rarely see. I view Alex as a pure dual-threat high school QB, with some real college potential at DB. I'm looking forward to seeing what Alex will be able to accomplish during his Junior season!

Anderson sneaks in at QB5, past a few QBs with Division 1 offers. This is a big projection, but I do think he's proven himself enough to warrant this ranking.

I love what Anderson has been able to show this offseason, despite some football time being taken in favor of baseball (no issue with that at all). Anderson has a big arm, consistent mechanics, and is able to make just about any throw. Whether Anderson ends up as QB1 or QB10 at the last iteration of these rankings, he's absolutely underrated as of right now. There are a ton of D1-offered QBs with very little to no Varsity experience, and I absolutely think Anderson should be a major part of this conversation.

I'm pretty bullish on Braylon, as he comes in as my QB11.

He's also my 2nd highest-ranked 2027 QB from West Michigan. I've seen Braylon in person several times, and I can confidently say that Braylon has the arm, mechanics, and IQ to lead Northview back into the postseason. Alongside a few weapons I'm excited about, I feel that Braylon will hit the ground running. I view Braylon as an improviser, in the same bucket as Caleb Williams. Not an elite athlete, but will run when convenient. Will make big throws, but will probably experience some growing pains early in the season.

I'm expecting big things from the Hudsonville transfer!

Malcomb was an extremely difficult QB to rank. At the end of the day, I decided to rank Malcomb #15. A ton of potential to grow, but still a good amount of question marks for the upcoming season.

The biggest one- will Malcomb be QB1? That is the simplest, most straightforward question that will impact his ranking.

More complex- how will Malcomb perform at QB (or any other position) this season? At QB, he has the potential to be the best true dual-threat in this class. He has the athleticism to not only be a dual-threat at the high school level, but also at the college level. If Malcomb can prove that he can consistently deliver accurate passes inside the pocket while also knowing when and how to scramble effectively, he'll rank up. I'm looking forward to seeing what Malcomb does this coming season!
