Session II of the Whitewater Mega Camp was such a fun group to watch. The skill positions came to play and there were waves of talent. We have already covered the RBs and QBs from the session. Now we go out wide to discuss the matchup nightmares at WR and TE. We have athletes that were making plays with their bigger frames, boxing out DBs and LBs. We saw kids run lightning quick routes that opened up some easy targets for QBs. We saw highlight reel catches in tight coverage. It was an electric environment and on top of it there was plenty of verified combine numbers to back up the athleticism we saw when the pads went on. So let's dive into the WR and TE groups and talk about the best of the day that caught my eyes.

Jermaine capitalized on his day in front of several college coaching staffs. I have long been a fan of how tough and physical the '26 TE is on tape. Whether it be as a blocker or running after the catch. What was great to see in person was his athleticism, and how he went about winning reps vs coverage. Those 1v1 reps were impressive. Jermaine used his strength to quickly power through any sort of tight coverage at the line, and did really well using well timed, quick use of his hands to get separation from LBs in coverage when he was coming out of his breaks. Cark also impressed with his hands, making some tough concentration catches in traffic. On top of the impressive live reps, Cark also did really well testing during the combine. He ran a 4.85 40, 7.25 L-Drill, 4.56 shuttle, and broad jumped 9'2" all at 5'11" 202 lbs. Jermaine would fit really well as an H-Back/Fullback type of athlete that you can line up all over the formation.

The 2027 WR out of Madison Memorial is developing into such an impressive talent at the WR position. Looking at the entire WR position, Sam separated himself by being the best route runner of the day. His balance, quick feet, and acceleration come together to allow him to rip through route breaks with lightning quick agility that left DBs way behind him trying to close or catch back up. The efficiency he executes his routes with is just as impressive as the explosiveness. Sam utilizes so few steps to get through his breaks, leaving no excess time for a DB to gain back on him. Plus the incoming junior so naturally plucks the ball out of the air. I have been able to watch Sam live a couple times this summer. He always stands out from the crowd with his talents.

On top of it all the 2027 also did really well in the combine. He checked in at 5'7" 155 lbs, ran a 4.61 40, 7.16 L-Drill, 4.31 shuttle, and jumped 9'1". Game changing long speed. Elite short area agility and burst. It matches how he plays on the field.

Xander is one of those athletes that when the lights come on and the pads go on he is able to flip a switch and take over. The 6'1" 188 lbs incoming junior did that again at the Whitewater Mega Camp. He is quickly learning how to use his length and overall size and strength to box out DBs. He has strong hands that let him catch the ball away from his body in those situations, furthering the distance between the DB and the ball. The bigger target also demonstrated some savvy route running, setting things up with head fakes and doing really well at selling a deep route before breaking off the route right when the DB turns his head to look back. Collier is developing his talents quickly and has the size and strong hands to become a serious mismatch out wide.

A big winner from the day overall was Donovan Ford. The '26 WR was able to earn himself an offer from the Warhawks of Whitewater following his on-field performance. The 6'2" 170 lbs athlete started off hot with a 4.72 40, 7.4 L-Drill, 4.75 shuttle, and an 8'8" broad jump. Donovan first caught my eyes with the quickness he has loaded up into that long frame. Every time I watched him I was impressed by his release off the line. Multiple times DBs tried to jam him and weren't able to even get a hand on him. From there the incoming senior could quickly stack the DB and get vertical. The '26 WR also was a natural at finding the ball and adjusting to it while it was in the air. Donovan definitely was a kid that looks like a matchup problem with his size, ball skills, and quickness off the line.

One of my favorite athletes to watch in this Class is the Germantown WR. He had a ton of strong reps once we started slinging the ball around. The 6'2" 190 lbs athlete was giving DBs fits with his route running. Even with his big frame, Christian was consistently getting open with ability to start/stop, get in and out of breaks, and also set up a DB with stutter steps and head fakes. The big target also does well coming to the ball and snagging it out of the air with strong hands, leaving very little room for a DB to make a play on the football. Christian did a great job of showing that he can win with power or his athleticism/route running. It was a great day for the Germantown standout.

Another camp, another DOMINANT [player_tooltip player_id='1186177' first='Keegan' last='Muchow'] performance. I have seen Keegan at 3-4 camps this summer and have been blown away by his numbers every time. Whitewater was no different as he ran a 4.67 40, insane 6.91 L-Drill, electric 4.13 shuttle, and jumped 9'11". Every camp we have seen numbers in that ballpark, so there is no questioning if he has the game-breaking athleticism needed to impact the next level. On the field the incoming senior is a nightmare before the catch. The kid explodes off the line and his agility through routes is consistently among the best at these camps we are in attendance for. He holds an offer from River Falls and Oshkosh, to date. I have no choice but to expect that to change, especially when tape starts coming out this fall. Keep a close eye on Keegan.

Another great performance came from Kaden Yeager. The incoming senior WR and I have crossed paths a few times and Kaden always impresses. The 5'11" 168 lbs athlete put on a great showing during the combine with a 4.60 40, 6.98 L-Drill, 4.46 shuttle, and a broad jump of 9'5". The 2026 WR is an explosive athlete who was able to win vertically and also with his short-intermediate route running. Kaden is so smooth with all his movements from route breaks to releases and seems to get to top speed within a few steps. Yaeger also has very natural ball skills, easily reeling in passes with his hands away from his body. He will come back to the football and can go up and high point it as well. The rising athlete has a slew of D3 offers and more are sure to join in. I'm excited to see him back on the field this fall.

Another intriguing prospect, this time at the TE position, is Zach Mason out of Prairie Ridge HS in IL. The 6'3" 250 lbs athlete has spent his career primarily serving as a blocking TE and essentially being an extra OL on the field. So it was great to see him come out and show how he can move beyond the line of scrimmage. Zach was the biggest TE in attendance, but he was able to move well in the short passing game and did show he could utilize that size to completely box out an LB in his route. Zach has a big frame, a lot of quality blocking experience, and can move well in tight quarters. Pieces that are well worth a loo.

The final athlete I want to focus on in this article is Seymour's [player_tooltip player_id='1545262' first='Carson' last='Staffeldt']. In between helping his baseball team get to State, Carson was able to come out to Whitewater and put together a strong showing in the combine. He ran a 4.74 40, 7.65 L-Drill, 4.81 shuttle, and a 9'1" broad jump. Carson is a difference maker at both WR and DB for Seymour, earning All Conference honors at WR and Unanimous All Conference honors at DB. Carson also checked in at 5'11" 171 lbs to start the day off. Seymour is in line to have a very talented team this fall with Carson being one of the leading impact players. Keep a close eye on him.
