Gardner Webb Megacamp: Defensive Standouts With Offers

<p>Over 1400 players were in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, this weekend at Gardner-Webb's Mega Camp, which attracted players from all over the southeast. The camp was well run, and there were colleges from all divisions in attendance, from Division 1 to Division 3. There was a ton of talent on display, and several players from North Carolina received offers to play collegiate football. In this article, we will talk about some of the defensive players who stood out to college coaches and received offers.</p>   <p><strong>NOTE:</strong> At the time of writing this article, these are defensive players in North Carolina who received offers from the camp. As more players receive offers from their attendance at the camp, feel free to notify me on Twitter/X @pepman704 so we may note that for future recognition on Prep Redzone North Carolina.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Coming over from Berry High School, Josh showed off the things he does best - use his quickness and hands to shed blocks of offensive linemen in his pass rush. Tying that with good speed, Josh earned his 2nd offer from Brevard College. Tyler is strong at the line of scrimmage and can come up in run support with his linebacker experience in his past. Amari was a player with some nice physical attributes but wasn't getting a lot of recruiting attention. Marcus continues to show good man coverage skills along with good footwork to stay with wide receivers all over the field. Xavier's length, reach, speed, and competitive spirit were impressive to watch live. Kalum 's quickness off the ball along with good speed for his size are always impressive to see. Those traits helped earn him an offer from Brevard College after his camp performance. Jaylen also shows good ability to play in space against slot receivers and support against the run. The interesting thing is Jaylen measured at 6'4, so he's still physically growing with that athletic ability, we could see a riser from a recruiting perspective here.
