Marcus is the lone Queen City Senior Bowl selection for the Hawks, and he didn’t get a ton of opportunities to defend the pass in this game, since Garinger was heavily ground-oriented in their attack. However, Marcus did a very good job coming up consistently in run support and making a couple of nice solo tackles. Marcus has committed to Concord University and has grown physically – now at 6’0 and 185 pounds, so he is preparing for the next level already. I’ll be excited to see Marcus in an All-Star game setting in a few weeks.

Marcus is another one of my favorite players from the last couple of years. He’s got a very tough mentality, and he isn’t going to back down from any kind of challenge. His team even asked him to step in and play some linebacker this season, and he went out and did it, even though he’s known for being a high-level coverage cornerback. That’s the kind of kid Marcus is. He’s committed to play college football at Concord University, and I couldn’t be happier for him.

Marcus continues to be one of my favorite players to write about because I love his work ethic, competitive nature, and overall athletic ability. Marcus continues to show good man coverage skills along with good footwork to stay with wide receivers all over the field. Marcus was rewarded for a good day of work with his 2nd overall offer from Livingstone College.

Marcus has been another player I have been high on since seeing him live last season. Marcus does a very good job in man coverage, and Saturday was no exception. I thought the individual period, along with the agility circuit, is where Marcus really did well, though. Marcus is a very fluid athlete who is fundamentally sound through and through. Marcus earned an offer from Concord University after the showcase, his first offer he has ever received. I was very happy for him!

While he’s most comfortable as a safety, Myers has shown the ability to play coverage in the slot of drop down into the box as an extra run defender. His future is likely as a slot corner, where his short area quickness and ability to break on the ball are maximized. This season he improved not only as a run defender, but he also upped his ball skills with two interceptions.

A lot of people talk about players that have that “dawg” in them, well I think Marcus is certainly one of those guys. Right now, I think he’s a little under the radar because of where he plays, but when I saw him live last season, he dug into taking on a good receiver and ended up making a couple of big plays, including an interception, because he played lockdown man coverage and excelled at high-pointing the football in a 1 on 1 situation. Marcus has very good speed and good ball skills as well. He’s had a little recruiting attention, but I’m betting on him for this Junior Bowl team.

Marcus has an excellent skill set as a 2026 DB to watch in the Charlotte area next season. In watching Marcus up close, he excels at man coverage. Marcus has good bursts coming out of his breaks, and is not afraid to be left on an island in coverage. Marcus has the right mental makeup to play the corner position, and he has made plays on film that are impressive. Marcus also has good long speed to cover receivers all over the field.
