He's a bit of a tweener who should grow into a 3-technique at the college level. He was extremely productive last season with 13 tackles for loss and can beat guys with speed or power. Though he's not the biggest interior defensive lineman, he's good at eating up space and opening up things for his teammates. His raw numbers are excellent, as he racked up over 50 tackles last year, with flashes as a pass-rusher as well. He's gained plenty of strength this offseason, especially in his legs, making him even tougher to move in the middle. He's never going to be a power first nose tackle, as he's going to win with speed more often than not. Not only is he a short-yardage space-eater who opens up tackling opportunities for his linebackers and pass-rushing opportunities for his edge rushers, but he's also going to play full-time at offensive guard this season.
