Oriol was one of our Top 50 of 2025, thanks to a fantastic senior season anchoring a strong Panther Creek defense. However, his recruitment hasn’t really caught up to his talent, as he’s still available, despite being ranked above several FCS commits. He plays much bigger than his frame would indicate, and that allows him to not only hold up in the running game but to flash dominant reps.

Oriol has been outstanding this year as a speedy interior defensive lineman. You’d find it difficult to find a defensive lineman at the 8A level playing as well as Oriol, who, along with some other top defenders, is wrecking opposing offenses. While he’ll occasionally flex outside, we like him best as an interior guy, as he’s gotten stronger this year and has room to add more weight. He’s a relentless rusher who sheds blocks with ease and puts up plenty of sacks and tackles for loss.

If you like some hard-fought defensive battles, watch Oriol lead a talented defensive line. He’s been dominant through three games, never more than last Friday, when he had six tackles for loss and four sacks in a 24-21 win over Knightdale. He’s been solid as a pass-rusher and as a run defender this year, playing both on the interior and off the edge.

Oriol is a fantastic pass rusher and a guy I feel like I was late on, only recognizing his talent after looking at Panther Creek for our RDU deep dive series. He’s adept at getting after the quarterback with speed or power and can play both inside and outside. He’s one of the top returning pass rushers in the area and a guy we really like a lot, as evidenced by his high debut slot.

Oriol is a versatile defensive lineman, and takes the top spot, despite being the only guy on this list who doesn’t play exclusively on the inside. He’s a bit of a tweener who should grow into a 3-technique at the college level. He excels at getting to the passer and is by far the most productive returning interior pass-rusher in the county.
