Carpenter was put in some difficult situations against some of the state’s top defenses, but his footwork, arm talent, and touch should translate. The lefty just needs to cut down on some of the interceptions. There’s some projection here, but he has a repeatable throwing motion and has flashed the arm talent to be a top passer in the state.

A highly athletic lefty, Carpenter has all the tools to not only be on the radar of college programs, but to be a popular player on the recruiting trail. He has a great arm, excellent size, and can eat up yards in a hurry as a runner. We’re looking for him to be more consistent, but given the tools and experience, he’s likely to find himself in the rankings next update.
