Catawba College held its 3rd Friday Night Lights Camp on June 27th on their campus at Shuford Stadium. Over 150 players were in attendance, where they were tested in the 40-yard dash, shuttle run, and broad jump. Players then went through an extended individual drill period before concluding the camp with some spirited 1 on 1 competition. Several players received offers from the camp, and we will take a look at those players here.

The big Mount Pleasant OL prospect had previously been offered by Catawba and decided to go ahead and commit to the Indians after a strong camp performance on Friday Night. As an interior offensive line player, Brandon will be a mountain-mover this upcoming season for the Tigers in their run-heavy offensive scheme. I think Catawba got a pretty good steal here, as we have Brandon ranked as a Top 15 lineman in the state.

LJ continues to have a strong offseason, picking up an offer from the Indians after a good camp. LJ looked fluid and fast as he has at previous camps, moving with confidence and smoothness in everything he does. He showed well during the receiving 1 on 1's as he had a couple of catches with a lot of separation from his defenders in the process.

Catawba offered Jayvion, a player I didn't know, as he is from the state of Virginia, but when you start looking at him in some detail, I see why he is ranked pretty quickly. Jayvion lists a 4.46-second 40-yard dash on his Twitter/X profile, and it comes through on film on both sides of the ball. As a DB on defense, Jayvion is quick and tackles well in space. On offense, they put Jayvion at receiver and get the ball in his hands quickly in space. He's a playmaker and this was his first offer - a bit of a surprise in all honesty.

Savon is another player I didn't know much about, but I liked how well he moved for his size throughout the individual linebacker drills in particular. As a middle linebacker, I thought Savon did a good job also in the pass game 1 on 1's against receivers and tight ends. Savon's highlight film is a fun watch - in the interior run game, he sheds block with nice power, and he just is a tackling machine. This was Savon's second overall offer.

Francisco is one of the best kickers in North Carolina by the numbers, and Catawba was impressed enough with him during the specialist portion of their camp that they offered him. Francisco is a two-time Conference Special Teams Player of the Year and is very accurate and consistent in his overall game. Francisco can nail field goals from 50 yards and in throughout his high school career so far, and has the leg to reach the endzone consistently for touchbacks.

I was happy to see that Zamarius received an offer from Catawba. Last year at the Gaston County Media Day, I was very impressed with this young man from a leadership and personality perspective. He is just a straight dog on the field as well with his play. Zamarius is not afraid to come up and tackle in space on offensive ball carriers. This is Zamarius's second recent offer; he also picked up an offer from Ferrum College earlier in June.

As we have said before, if Jamouri were a couple of inches taller, he would have a slew of offers. Jamouri had a strong camp performance from the testing portion, through individuals, and in the 1 on 1 period. Overall, his offseason has been strong, helping lead the Lions to several big-time 7 on 7 championships on college campuses. I visited West Charlotte recently and spoke with him about that and more.

If you were curious, yes, this is the son of the legendary coach Tom Knotts, who was there to watch his son in action at this camp. However, Jaxon is his own talent, and he earned this offer based on his own merits for sure. I liked his fundamentals, especially, everything was always the same with his footwork and delivery throughout the individual period and through the 1 on 1 period. Jaxon displayed some nice touch, in particular during a deep ball drill designed for the wide receivers. Jaxon also has a nice, quick release with good accuracy. This does appear to be Jaxon's first official offer!

Hunter continues to have a strong offseason after I ranked him as a top offensive lineman in the Charlotte Metro Area in my Deep Dive series earlier this offseason. Hunter has picked up several offers over the last few weeks, and he continues to display strength & toughness along with good footwork for his size. Hunter's technique has also improved this offseason, showing that he is applying the teaching from coaches from the number of camps he has attended so far.

This was the first offer for Domonic, who is transitioning and learning to play the defensive back position per Richmond coaches. His learning is coming along at an exponential rate, because I really like Domonic's ability to run with receivers in man coverage, and the way he takes to coaching during individual drills was impressive. Obviously, his size at 6'3 and long frame is a good bet for the Catawba staff here. He will be one to watch, especially if he gets off to a good start this upcoming season.

Omaryon has had a good offseason, as we have noted his performance previously at some camps and showcases as a top-performing defensive lineman. Here at Catawba, I thought Omaryon moved extremely well for his size during the individual movement drills for defensive linemen. We have seen Omaryon on film plug holes and shut down the running game, so I think he clinched this offer with his movement and explosion. This is Omaryon's second overall offer, and he will be a big part of the East Forsyth defense this season.
