Hayes is a big body in the middle who actually puts up some decent numbers given his role. He’s primarily going to clog up the middle and open up opportunities for his linebackers, but he also finished the season with 50 tackles and flashed with two sacks.

I have written about Omaryon a good bit this offseason as he has continued to impress at multiple postseason camps. East Forsyth will definitely lean on him strongly this season to stop the run up the middle, which is what he does best as a prospect. However, in seeing him at the Catawba College Camp, Omaryon has really improved his athleticism for his size – now listed at 6’2 and 330 pounds – and has flashed some pass rushing ability from his defensive tackle position. I will be excited to see how Omaryon starts off the season in his first few games.

Omaryon has had a good offseason, as we have noted his performance previously at some camps and showcases as a top-performing defensive lineman. Here at Catawba, I thought Omaryon moved extremely well for his size during the individual movement drills for defensive linemen. We have seen Omaryon on film plug holes and shut down the running game, so I think he clinched this offer with his movement and explosion. This is Omaryon’s second overall offer, and he will be a big part of the East Forsyth defense this season.

Hayes’ strength is clearly on display in his highlight tape as there are multiple instances where he tosses aside linemen to make plays in the backfield. He’s a strong run defender and controls the line of scrimmage, forcing runs away from their intended holes and still having the quickness to make some tackles himself. The flashes are there, if he can become a bit more consistent, he’s going to have the chance to move far up our rankings.
