Best of the West: Mega Camp-Session 5

On Saturday, June 21, I was at Weber State to look at some players at Session 5, and below are some players that caught my eye.    Andresen has great arm talent, throws a nice, tight spiral, and has good velocity on his throws. I've seen him multiple times this offseason, and he's a player who keeps improving. He moves well, has good size, and should gain 20-25 lbs to fill out his frame. He had some nice deep throws on the day and has good ball placement and throws a very catchable ball to his receiver. He's a signal caller who's a D1 prospect and will get recruited by multiple programs.     Palepoi has great arm talent, and I've seen him several times this offseason, and one thing always stands out: the ball jumps out of his hands. Palepoi throws a great deep ball and is a prospect that can will get offers come his way, he's a D1 prospect. He had a great day.     Hillstead had a good performance and shows a quick delivery. He throws an accurate ball with good ball placement. He made quite a few good throws on the day. Hillstead throws a good ball and can manipulate the velocity on his throws. He had one rep where he threw a perfect deep ball. He made some nice throws on the day.     I've seen Virgin a few times this offseason, from the Track It event to a 3DQB session and then today. He had an offseason shoulder injury, and his velocity has picked up each time I've seen him. His throwing motion looks much better now as well. He made some good throws on the day and is a player who will continue to improve.     I've seen Mayberry several times this offseason, and he looked good during the drills. From the 40, the 5-10-5, and the broad jump. He nailed a 10 broad with ease, signaling his explosiveness. He's a twitchy receiver who is hard to stick to and will be a player who will continuously get open. Mayberry has good lateral movement and understands tempo, and has great subtle fakes to find ways to get open and manipulate his corner. He had a great afternoon and got open on most of his 1v1 reps     Morris had a great afternoon. He is a smooth, fluid mover and had a good 40 time. He showcased good agility during the 5-10-5 and had a 10 broad jump to showcase his explosiveness. Morris is a smooth and effortless route runner with good hands and good footwork. Morris got open on several reps in the afternoon and created late separation with his footwork and his explosive quick burst.     Hafoka had a good afternoon and did well in his 40-yard dash, the 5-10-5, and had a 9.5 broad jump. Hafoka did a great job on his 1v1. He used an array of moves at the release to get open and showcased good footwork, and created good separation. Hafoka has good hands and is strong at the catch point.     Bostick was a player who caught my eye throughout the entire session. He is now in Las Vegas and will be playing for Centennial. He moves exceptionally well, ran a good 40, looked very fluid during the 5-10-5, and had a good broad jump. During the 1v1 portion, he got open several times. He showcases good footwork, has good hip fluidity, understands tempo, manipulates his corner, and has good short bursts to create that late separation. He is going to have a fantastic final season, and he is a player who should get recruited. He was one of the best receivers in that bunch. He caught the eye.     This was my first time seeing him, and he is a player who moves well. He has good hip fluidity, and is a player who has good suddenness and is strong at the catch point. He tracks the ball well and made several plays where he had to adjust last second. He had one deep rep where he showcased his strong hands and ball-tracking skills. It was a good showing for him and had reps that made him look very good. He'll be looked at regionally in recruiting.    Session 5 had some great recruits and plenty of prospects that will get offers coming their way. Get to know the names!
