<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Take a look at the prospects ranked #5 - #10 overall in the updated 2027 PRZ state rankings.</h2>    Edwards moves up a hand full of spots to #6 and is the #1 ranked TE in the 2027 class. 6'6” 215 lbs. he's the former basketball player that college football programs love to transition to a TE. He's got the athleticism, body control, and hands to be an excellent receiving threat showing he can adjust to off target throws and extend outside his framework to play the ball in the air. Long strider that runs well to push vertically and extend gains after the catch. 23 offers and is one of the most highly recruited TE's in the country.      Edmunds holds strong as the top ranked QB in the 2027 class. Checks every box of an elite QB with both high level physical tools and an advanced football IQ. Standing out with a strong, accurate arm, he delivers throws with velocity and touch to all areas of the field both in the pocket and on the run. His mechanics are clean and consistent, paired with quick feet and a compact release that allows him to get the ball out under pressure. Shows good vision reading the defense with the ability to manipulate coverage with his eyes and make full-field progressions. Committed early to Ohio State in December 2024.      Epps maintains his position at #8 overall and is PRZ's top ranked LB in the 2027 class. Physically imposing with a 6'4” 235 lb. frame he also possesses excellent athleticism and movement skills that give him sideline to sideline range. Three down ability showing he can aggressively fill gaps in run support but is equally impressive dropping back into coverage, played Safety before hitting a growth spurt. That background at Safety gives him a great ability to play in space and proves he has the change of direction, speed, and instincts to be effective playing anywhere on the field. Advanced football IQ to process his reads, diagnose run/pass, and trigger to the ball with speed. Racked up 24 offers before committing to Texas in April.      The Oregon commit moves up 11 spots to #9 overall. 6'3” 245 lbs., he brings a great combination of size, strength, and athleticism that allows him to impact the game in multiple ways. As a run defender, he shows excellent gap discipline, using his natural power and strong hands to shed blockers and maintain leverage. He's tough to move off his spot and can squeeze down run lanes effectively while maintaining separation with good arm extension. Great in pursuit, he can redirect and chase with good bend and short area acceleration. As a pass rusher, he fires off the ball with speed and has the ability to collapse the pocket quickly. Like his lateral quickness to and variation of moves to beat blockers and get to the QB. Has continued to rise up the PRZ rankings throughout his HS career.      Hale made a big jump in the updated rankings to get into the top 10 overall. He's an outstanding athlete with a long 6'3” 175 lb. frame and combines that size with his speed and technical ability to dominate at all three levels of the field. A natural pass catcher with strong hands, effortless body control, and the ability to win consistently in both contested catch situations and open space. A plus route runner that gains easy separation with sharp cuts and explosiveness out of his breaks. Catches radius extends well outside his framework with the ability to go up and compete for the ball at the high point. Excels after the catch as well, his vision, quick acceleration, and lateral agility make him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. A reliable target in key situations, he performs with confidence and consistency in critical down situations. 17 offers but his recruitment is still building with tons of upside and potential.
