We're just days away from our Spring PRZ Combine, the first we've ever done in the Raleigh-Durham area. Simply put, I'm excited. As much as a I love getting back to the Charlotte area to cover showcases, it's rare to have one in RDU and the makeup of our participant list skews heavily to the RDU area. After pre-scouting some defenders from the RDU area, I'm looking at some offensive players from around the state slated to be in attendance that I'm excited to scout in person.

Offensive Players To Know at PRZ NC Clayton Camp

The structure of the camp should allow me to scout a bunch of guys. We'll split into smaller groups to run 40s, broad jump, 5-10-5, and L-Drill athletic tests, then do some positional work and end with 1-on-1s. I'll bounce around and scout everybody in attendance, but I'm particularly intrigued by these guys.

[player_tooltip player_id='1272624' first='Luke' last='Pagan'], RB, Green Level

I've recently been introduced to Pagan, who got plenty of opportunities last season, but couldn't find much room on a struggling offense. Athletically, he looks like he's the real deal with great size for his age. I'm interested to see his burst in a camp setting and think this could be a great setting for him to thrive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1662114' first='Austin' last='Davis'], QB, Cuthbertson

I've heard some great things about Davis from some people in the area, but haven't actually had the opportunity to see him myself. He brings above average athleticism to the quarterback position and actually played some receiver in the past. It's a smaller quarterback group than we've had in the past, so I'd love to see Davis stand out.

[player_tooltip player_id='870217' first='Tanner' last='Payne'], QB, West Carteret

On tape, Payne is a pure pocket passer with a great arm. But at the recent Carolina Coaches' Combine, Payne put up ridiculous testing numbers that suggest that his dual-threat abilities go beyond the "he can run a bit." I'm hoping to see a repeat of that performance, as well as a strong passing day from one of my favorite quarterbacks in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1665917' first='Jayden' last='Howard'], RB, Havelock

Howard dominated at the junior varsity level as a freshman before having a fairly strong season as a sophomore on a Havelock offense with a ton of mouths to feed. They'll lose several of their best playmakers, meaning Howard could be in for a huge increase in workload. Still, I haven't seen much of him and I'm excited to do a full evaluation on Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id='534079' first='Rahlai' last='Anderson'], RB, Northside (Jacksonville)

We've had Anderson on the radar for a while, but I'm excited to strip away all the extra bells and whistles and get him in a pure camp setting where I think his skill set could thrive. With a strong performance, Anderson is a candidate to rise in the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228977' first='Chance' last='Cato'], QB, Olympic

Cato's growth over the years has been astounding. The last time I saw him throw I wondered if he was the same guy I first evaluated as a freshman. He has a huge frame and huge arm, but the accuracy has improved leaps and bounds. It's always a treat to see him throw and his presence ensures that the receivers and defensive backs can have some competitive one-on-ones.

[player_tooltip player_id='1264500' first='Jayden' last='Arthur'], Ath., South Rowan

Arthur's decision to competing as a running back (his primary position among several played) will allow me to get a feel for his technical abilities. The freshman is athletic and can do a lot for an offense, but I'd love to see his upside as a pure running back. How will his footwork look? Will he look natural at the position? I think I'll answer these with a "yes" but this is the perfect setting to get that evaluation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1657753' first='Doc' last='Caldwell'], WR, Mooresville

Honestly, I don't know much about Caldwell the football player. I know he's a standout on the basketball court and has great size for a receiver, but I don't know much about his speed, hands, or route-running. That gives him a huge range of potential positions in the rankings. With a strong performance, he could fly up the board.
