Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Doc was the most complete receiver in attendance at the showcase per feedback from showcase coaches. He’s got everything you want – height, catch radius, speed, agility, consistent hands, and excellent route running. Reports had him dominating in the 7 on 7 circuit during the offseason, and that translated very well here. It’s only a matter of time before college football programs see what we are currently seeing and increase their interest in Doc, and potentially offer him this summer with a strong camp season.

(C/O 2028) is a real sleeper prospect at wide receiver and a name college coaches need to keep an eye on. At 6’3, 170 pounds, Caldwell brings outstanding size to the position while pairing it with verified speed, having been clocked in the mid-4.5 range — more than enough speed when combined with his frame and playmaking ability.
What stands out most is how natural he is catching the football. Caldwell has great hands, consistently plucks the ball away from his body, and shows the ability to finish plays. His route running is also ahead of schedule, creating separation both off the line and at the top of his breaks, allowing him to consistently create space.
With camp season approaching and several college 7v7 opportunities ahead this summer, it would not be surprising to see Caldwell start collecting offers. Keep an eye on Doc — his stock could rise quickly.

Caldwell continues to fly under the radar despite both physical ability and past production. He runs well, and at 6’3″, his catch radius is excellent. He was the second-leading receiver on a balanced passing offense, and with another offseason together, that group should be even better in 2026.

This was a TOUGH choice as the receivers’ coaching staff felt like there were at least 15 receivers who deserved recognition – this was the deepest group at this particular showcase. The consensus, though, was that Doc was the most consistent with his route running, showing a wide variety of routes in the route tree. Doc showed he could high-point the football in the red zone 1 on 1’s, and he showed speed to create separation against man coverage. With a talented QB throwing him the ball, Doc could have a huge breakout season coming his way.

Lake Norman spreads the ball around, but Caldwell has carved out an impressive role as a bigger slot receiver, a guy who can create separation at the top of routes and offer a reliable target underneath. That doesn’t mean he’s only operating short of the sticks, but it does show a skill set that is overall lacking in this class of receivers–a guy who can create his own space against man coverage and find the hole in zone.
