I’ve talked about Memphys’s skills as a pass rusher on here before, and that’s one of the great things about him – his versatility. Coming off a strong season where he had 92 tackles, 18 tackles, and 8 sacks, Memphys can be an asset as an EDGE player or as an off-ball linebacker. Memphys takes great pursuit angles to get to the ball carrier when playing from depth, and he shows great tackling fundamentals when he gets to the football. I would classify him as a power-type of pass rusher, but he has a good get-off at the snap as an EDGE player, and has the speed to beat slower offensive tackles around the edge in his pass rush. This will be a big camp season for him to help generate some recruiting interest, because I think he’s deserving of it.
Positional versatility is a trait that keeps popping up with this group of linebackers, and that trend continues with Memphys. This past season, Memphys tallied 92 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks – impressive production. I remember specifically highlighting Memphys as a player of the week for 3 sacks he had against Independence – no slouch there at all. So obviously, Memphys shows the ability to get to the quarterback when lined up on the edge of the defense. Memphys can also play off-ball at middle linebacker, and he shows some excellent ability to shed blocks and scrape to get the football against the interior running game in that role. Memphys should start to see some college football program interest coming this offseason, in my opinion.
Barb is a physically built, impact linebacker who looks every bit the part of a next-level defender. At 6’1”, 220 pounds, he brings a college-ready frame with strength and pop at the point of attack. His production last season was dominant—94 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks, showing his ability to disrupt games both downhill and as a pass rusher. Barb plays with urgency, attacks gaps with confidence, and finishes plays in the backfield. The combination of size, violence, and backfield production puts him firmly in the conversation as a Power-4 caliber prospect, and his upside only grows as more eyes get on him.
Barb took his game to another level in 2025, with nearly 100 tackles and seven sacks. He flies around the field defensively, and he’s done a great job of shaping his body to play linebacker. Always athletic, he’s learning to use that athleticism to gain an advantage on the field, and we feel that he’s going to keep getting better as he grows older, especially as he’s becoming more comfortable as a pure linebacker.
Barb is a guy we identified early, thanks to a strong Prep Redzone Combine performance a couple of years ago, then he dropped a bit off the radar as he rotated in and out on varsity. He was strong down the stretch last year, with 39 tackles in his final five games, and he moved up accordingly. We’ve gotten the chance to dive back into his film this offseason, and think the big outside linebacker has a chance for a truly special junior season.
Barb has been on our radar for a long, long time, dating back to his performances at Prep Redzone Next camps in the early 2020s, but he’s recently taken another step in his development. He’s a bigger linebacker who can move and his size allows him to get after the quarterback. He has some untapped potential, but the talent and athleticism are there.
While we like him best right now as an off-ball linebacker, Barb is also impressive as an edge rusher and in time could grow into a highly-coveted defensive end. Barb has great power to take on blockers both as a pass-rusher and run-defender. He took full advantage of the increased playing time he earned as a sophomore.
