Gavin from these eyes has escalated his game since my last live eval and the tape shows it off quickly. The tight window throws that he can make in a pinch with a quick release tells the tale early on tape as a rising 2026 quarterback for the Brookings Bobcats. If you are looking for a quarterback for the next-level that displays plenty of balance with his throws inside and outside of the pocket, Gavin surely should fit the bill of what college coaches are looking for. The poise Gavin has as a dual threat quarterback is also developing nicely, as one I hope to see how well-versed he looks during camps with his off-platform throws this summer.

It's hard to believe that Brookings has two 2026 quarterbacks in their program that both have the skills to play at the next level, with the other being [player_tooltip player_id='1236489' first='Jones' last='Huntimer']. Jones fits the bill as more of a pocket passer, but one that is quick and smooth with his releases and progressions. The 6'2 180 pounder, can consistently fire into tight windows with ease on intermediate routes and I have seen plenty of growth from Jones from my last live eval to tape. I'll admit, he is surely due for a rise up our 2026 rankings as the Bobcats head into 2025 with easily the best one-two punch in their QB room.

If there is a 2027 athlete in this class that is due for a big junior season upcoming, I'll take the odds on [player_tooltip player_id='853340' first='Elliot' last='DeJong'] from West Central. The tape right now is raw, but with how position flexible Elliot looks to be with all of his athleticsm he shows off 2025 should be be a great year. This kid was a monster on special teams for the Trojans in 2024 and without a doubt, you can see the football IQ Elliot has at his disposal. The 6'4 180 pounder, is one I hope to see what he can do on the offensive side of the ball in 2025 as he looks like a wide receiver that could give DBs fits in 11A.

Another name from our Prep Redzone NEXT board, that we just got a hold of his sophomore tape two weeks ago, is [player_tooltip player_id='852667' first='Kai' last='Zabel'] of Fargo Shanley. I have known about Kai's speed for a while now but hadn't seen it on tape, but man this young man can fly in the open field for the Deacons when the ball in his hands. You can't miss either on the suddenness that Kai has at his disposal as he takes off like a jet turning what are short gains for most into touchdowns. Even watching Kai on deep routes, the ample seperation he gets on those routes is excellent from the jump, as a 2027 WR that surely should take 11AAA by storm in 2025 as Kai, easily looks like a scholarship talent on the gridiron. Twitter

Brody is one that right now might be light the on tape, but the upside is surely there for the taking for this young man out of Northern Cass. The 6'1 240 pounder, even with a circle on his game tape stuck out like a sore thumb with how physical his punch lands at the point of attack as a OT target that makes quick work into the second level. He shows off intriguing pad-level on the reps I was able to find too, as one that I surely need to see a sophomore tape out of for a further eval.
