. He’s one of the smoothest route-runners you are going to find in this class and one that surely almost makes it look effortless when you roll his tape from last fall. He’s absoulute problem for defenses in the open field with how many ways he can burn you with his legs especially when he gets the jet sweep and utilzes his vision. Kai is very agile and racks up plenty of YAC yards whenever the ball is in his hands and surely is another 27′ that is more under the radar than he should be in my eyes as our ATH2.

Zabel is a playmaker on offense for the 5-0 and #1 ranked Deacons. Kai has 18 carries for 214 yards (11.9 YPC). He also has 16 receptions for 133 yards, and 1 TD. In hoops, Zabel is a lead guard for the Grovers. He is a standout athlete on the hardwood. Expect him to take the next step and for Oak Grove to be an improved hoop squad.

of Fargo Shanley. I have known about Kai’s speed for a while now but hadn’t seen it on tape, but man this young man can fly in the open field for the Deacons when the ball in his hands. You can’t miss either on the suddenness that Kai has at his disposal as he takes off like a jet turning what are short gains for most into touchdowns. Even watching Kai on deep routes, the ample seperation he gets on those routes is excellent from the jump, as a 2027 WR that surely should take 11AAA by storm in 2025 as Kai, easily looks like a scholarship talent on the gridiron. Prep Redzone Next National Scouting Director, AL Pops: From To qualify for the High School Varsity State Championship Track Meet in any event, in any state is an accomplishment. To accomplish it as an eighth-grader is exceptional. To qualify for seven different events as an eighth-grader is borderline unheard of. However, that’s what North Dakota’s

recently accomplished, as he finished 5th in the state in the 200m with a 22.68 and was 2nd in the state on the 4x200m relay team with a 1:30.73 time. For reference, his PR in the 100m is 11.35, which stacks up to many times around the nation for the 2027 class. The son of former North Dakota State defensive back Todd Zabel, the talented 2027 prospect will be at Oak Grove Lutheran for high school. This kid could be a sleeper and a steal for someone in four short years.
