CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase Top Offensive Linemen

The Charlotte Football Insiders (CFI) Carolinas MEGA Showcase brought over 270 athletes from all over the Carolinas and put them in front of over 25 colleges in order to be recruited and possibly offered college scholarships. CFI in the last 5 years has had over 100 players gain offers through exposure from their showcases and events. This analysis will focus on the top offensive linemen selected by the CFI Coaching Staff as Top Performers from the event. In this position group, coaches selected top performers from the upperclassmen and the lowerclassmen in attendance.    Jamaare has recently transferred to Palisades High School, and they are getting a culture setter up front. Jamaare has had a strong offseason at showcases and continued his impressive work here. Jamaare is a prototypical right tackle who can play with power and stun a charge of defensive linemen who try to bull rush him. Jamaare moves his feet well to stay in front of speed rushers on the edge as well. Jamaare picked up an offer from Fairmont State after his strong performance at the showcase.     Ian showed good power and footwork during the 1 on 1 portion of the showcase. I thought Ian also moved well throughout the individual and agility circuit portion of the showcase as well. Ian displays a consistently strong work ethic and should start to see some recruiting interest come his way through the camp season.     Jorquis now attends West Charlotte High School, and he had a strong showing after not playing last season. Jorquis has impressive strength at the point of attack and fits his hands well in pass protection against defensive tackles. As a center prospect, Jorquis showed the ability to handle shaded techniques without help in pass protection and showed good footwork overall. Jorquis picked up offers from Elizabeth City State and Johnson C. Smith Universities after his strong showcase performance.     An interior offensive line prospect, John showed once again that his strength is playing against bigger defensive tackles who win primarily by bull rushing in the passing game. John showed good technique to be a people mover in the running game as well. Throughout the offseason, John has done a good job at showcases being a consistent top performer. He will just need to remain patient in the recruiting process and college interest will come his way in the right time.     I was impressed with Charles, I thought he showed good athleticism throughout the agility circuit and during the 1 on 1 periods, especially. Charles showed good technique in fitting his hands inside the frame against defensive linemen and replacing them when they attempted to shed blocks in their pass rush technique. Charles has had some college interest, and as long as he performs consistently through camp season, he should start to see offers come his way.     Mykie is a little under the radar currently, but he is a large prospect, every bit of the 6'5 270 pounds he is listed at. Mykie projects as an interior guard prospect at the next level, and with that size he should definitely garner more interest as long as he consistently puts himself in front of college coaches. Rocky River had a couple of offensive linemen sign with colleges last season, and the Division 2 level should love Mykie as they start putting together their recruiting boards now.     Andrew had another good showing at a CFI Showcase, and these are very important for him as it showed he can do a lot more than he is typically asked in a South Point heavy run offense. Andrew held up well in pass blocking 1 on 1's against defensive linemen, and he moved well throughout the agility circuit portion of the showcase. After the showcase, Andrew received his first offer from Concord University.     Samarion had a good showcase overall. I think he projects as an interior OL prospect on the next level. Samarion showed good form throughout run blocking drills at the showcase, and he showed good strength in pass protection against interior defensive linemen during 1 on 1's. Samarion should be an important piece of the Kings Mountain offensive line this upcoming season.     As a tackle prospect, Gage showed some good ability to move with some fluidity throughout the agility circuit during the showcase. Gage has a nice physical frame to continue to add good weight to throughout the next two years before moving on to play college ball. The potential is there for Gage to have a good junior season to get onto some college coaches' radars before his senior year.
