Expert Analysis

An All-Conference selection, Samarion really does a good job in the running game on a variety of blocks up front from his guard position. Samarion shows excellent footwork in getting out in space on short and long pulls and explodes into contact at the end of those pulls. Samarion also exhibits great strength in straight driving defensive tackles off the football. I think college interest will start to increase this offseason.

Dawkins is a two-way player, and at one point, I thought we might prefer him on the defensive side of the ball. However, he’s showing that he’s a future college interior offensive lineman. I really like his lateral movement as a puller, as he’s able to get out into space and clear the way for his running backs.

I thought 2027 Kings Mountain (NC) OL Samarion Dawkins had the best day among the talented offensive line group at the Concord Prospect Camp on Friday. Dawkins is a physical interior offensive line prospect and won every 1-on-1 rep that I was able to catch. He also displayed quick feet and easily stayed in front of his man. Dawkins plays with low leverage, and his physical strength proved to be too much for opposing defensive linemen. You could see why he’s highly thought of by our North Carolina site as a Top 10 OL prospect in the 2027 class.

Samarion had a good showcase overall. I think he projects as an interior OL prospect on the next level. Samarion showed good form throughout run blocking drills at the showcase, and he showed good strength in pass protection against interior defensive linemen during 1 on 1’s. Samarion should be an important piece of the Kings Mountain offensive line this upcoming season.

A classic interior defensive tackle, he was a load in the middle on the South Carolina Future Stars eighth-grade team. Billed at 6-foot and 290 pounds, the strong and stout prospect looks to have a bright future playing ball. Dawkins has a powerful initial step and jab that can jolt an offensive lineman’s head back. Also brings his feet with a pretty good quick first step. Also has the mass to absorb double teams and keep his ground if lined up in the A or B gaps. Could improve the overall speed he plays at, but that should come as he progresses.
