Jarrett’s upside is seemingly limitless, given his height, bend, and explosive qualities. He’s still learning the nuances of the position, but anytime a guy has a 6-foot-5 frame and a sub-4.6 40 time, you know there’s something to work with. Only a rising junior, Jarrett is likely to turn some heads at camps this offseason, and if he can add a bit more weight, he’s a serious edge prospect.
When you talk about a high ceiling player, Christian fits that description very well to me. Already standing at 6’5, Christian made some nice impacts on a good Kings Mountain team this past season with 65 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. And all that is even before he’s had an offseason to get stronger in the weight room. That’s scary stuff for opponents. Listing a 4.5 40-yard dash time on his Twitter profile, you get a glimpse at the kind of overall athlete Christian already is. Once it fully comes together, it’s going to be special. Christian received his first offer earlier this year from East Carolina, and you can bet more schools will be showing interest sooner than later.
Christian came to this showcase as a linebacker to work on his off-ball skills, which is very smart to do in the offseason. I thought he moved well overall throughout the agility circuit and individual portions of the showcase, notably. On his film, Christian shows that he is a hybrid linebacker, edge player who can get to the quarterback with some good hand usage at the point of attack against offensive linemen. Developing his overall game as an EDGE player will further enhance his overall game and get the attention of college football coaches.
Jarrett announced his presence with a bang, with three sacks in his starting debut. He plays a hybrid linebacker-nickel role for Kings Mountain, but we’ve ranked him as an edge rusher, the most likely position he’ll play in college. He’s quick off the edge as a blitzer, but his ability to play coverage at his size is quite impressive.
We wrote about Jarrett as a Stock-Riser in our 2028 rankings last week, so his breakout shouldn’t be much of a surprise. However, I was impressed at exactly how well he performed against an excellent Shelby team on Friday. He has three sacks, multiple tackles for loss and consistent pressure. That’s not bad at all for a guy who had four total tackles last season.
It’s hard not to be enamored with Jarrett’s upside as the young defender is more of an athlete than a refined player right now. At his age, that’s probably a plus. He’s a guy who is going to get better as he learns the pass-rushing craft. This offseason, he’s gotten bigger and stronger, and he should improve as he gets older.
