The Class of 2028 has several outstanding athletes making an early name for themselves. We also have had some athletes recently hit our radar. Today's article is going to look into the tape of one of those new radar hits, as well as dive into the tape of offensive skill players that make up the meat of our current 2028 rankings. Athletes that are well on their way towards developing into Friday night impact players. A couple even have made their varsity debut already. So let's get into the meat of this Class!

One of those new hits on the radar and also an athlete who has already made a mark on Friday nights is Waupun's [player_tooltip player_id='1709706' first='Owen' last='Kloosterboer']. The '28 TE/LB/WR already has an outstanding frame to continue to grow and develop at 6'3" 220 lbs. On varsity, Owen was used on the DL primarily with some work at LB. The freshman showed off an explosive first step that allowed him to beat OL through gaps. That quickness got Owen a lot of penetration and play disruption in the backfield. On offense, Owen was an unfair matchup. Between his size and speed there weren't any DBs that could run with him downfield. Plus in the short passing game the big man punished DBs running behind his shoulder pads and striking with a strong stiff arm. Big things look like they are on the horizon for Owen.

Arrowhead returns their top performing RBs from 2024, but eventually when Devin gets his opportunities we are going to see that Arrowhead has another game-breaking RB working through the program. Devin has the acceleration and top end speed to turn an inside rush attempt into a 50+ yard run as he flies through the trenches and into the secondary before defenders can close on him. Devin already shows off strong instincts with the ball in his hands. He finds blocks, is very decisive with where he attacks, and always is getting up field and picking up yards. The impressive athlete even makes highlight reel plays lining up at receiver. The freshman is a natural athlete that is going to be a big impact in the near future.

One of the top TEs on our radar in the Class of 2028 is the Kimberly athlete. Jake brings a rare frame to the field at 6'5" 205 lbs. With three years to continue to grow and fill out that frame, I can only begin to imagine the mismatch he could provide with his size. The big athlete is able to cover ground well as a route runner, but we could see a big jump in that part of his game as he continues to get more comfortable and flexible within his frame. You also have to love the big catch radius Jake already provides, high pointing the ball, going over DBs to get the ball, and showing off strong hands to secure the catch. I'm pumped to see how Jake looks after this offseason.

Jayce is an intriguing RB prospect to keep an eye on. He is a shifty, agile runner through traffic. The way he can quickly find paths to more yards and create space with his lateral cuts is impressive. Jayce also flashed power to run through arm tackles, even while making a cut he has highlights of tacklers falling to the ground as he continued to churn his legs through the contact. Throughout his highlights there are so many examples of him creating more than what was initially there. I look forward to watching him continue to develop at Oregon.

A big bodied WR who could really make a splash soon is [player_tooltip player_id='1602970' first='Avery' last='Ash']. The 6'3" 195 lbs athlete did a great job of using his big frame to create space throughout his highlights. The freshman dominated in the quick passing game where he could box out the DB, make a secure catch, and then show off his punishing power to break tackles and gain yards after contact. Avery plays the role of a possession WR that a QB can trust to come down with the ball, and then after the catch he is going to battle for yards. A physical athlete to definitely have on your radar early on.

Carter quickly earned a job on the varsity team for McFarland. The freshman did really well playing with patience, allowing blocks and plays to develop. He did equally well of reading the blocks, and cutting off them to gain yards before contact. Carter has developed a solid base of power that he uses to finish plays. Between the power, patience, and vision Carter has a solid base of talent to continue to grow his role on varsity and become a big impact on the result of games.
