I’m really excited for this to be Jayce’s breakout year. The 5’10” 190 lbs sophomore led the Oregon RBs with 67/311/1 on the ground. Jayce runs so hard and has a low center of gravity to be able to break tackles and move the pile while attacking between the tackles. When the ’28 hits the open field he can flip that switch and accelerate into the open field. You have to love the decisive running that he has too. The kid shows no hesitation and is ready to attack the second he touches the ball. Big things ahead for him the next couple of years.

One of the best RBs in the WI Class of 2028 came up to Eau Claire and once again proved he deserves to be up there with the top of the group. Jayce checked in just shy of 5’11” and was 195 lbs. The sophomore has built a frame that can handle the workload any given Friday. More importantly, on Sunday Jayce proved to have the athleticism that will allow him to continue playing at the next level. He posted a 4.75 & 4.76 40s, 35.1″ vertical, 7.53 L-Drill, and jumped 9’6.5″ in the broad. His prototypical frame comes with a very well balanced athletic profile of speed, acceleration, and change of direction. This is a name to know over these next couple of years.

Whether it has been on tape, at a live game, or at our Showcase, Jayce stands out every time he competes. Jayce has the build of a workhorse RB. 5’10” 190 lbs with a 6′.5″ wingspan and 9.5″ hands. He ran a pair of 4.84 40s, had an elite 4.19 shuttle, broad jumped 9′ and 9’1″, and hit 7.3 in the L-Drill. The stocky RB carries a ton of power in his lower body and it shows up on the field in the form of elusive cuts and explosive acceleration. He was able to make people miss all day and explode out of route breaks and catch the ball well. He is working his way into a three down back and was a key contributor on varsity as an underclassman. This is one to know and follow.

I was excited to get an in-person look at the sophomore RB. His tape had impressed me, and the more I saw him carry the ball the more I liked what I saw in person. Jayce is a physical runner who plays aggressively and with quick decision making. He is a one cut runner who can get up field in a hurry once he sticks that foot in the ground and gets vertical. The sophomore is already developing a strong lower body that can absorb contact and drive through defenders to gain extra yards when plays initially looked stuffed. I also have to add that I love the way he plays 100 mph every time he gets a carry. Definitely keep an eye on this kid’s development over the coming years.

Oregon is putting together one of their better seasons in recent history and a big reason why is the success of their run game. A run game that is being spearheaded by sophomore RB Jayce Oparie- Addoh. Jayce has already gained 210 yards and scored a TD on the ground through three games on 37 total carries. Watching those carries, you get a sense that Jayce plays with a sense of experience and maturity even though he is only a 2028. He is decisive, attacks the hole and is usually at top speed by the time he is flying through the opening. The kid sticks his foot in the ground and attacks. No hesitation. The vision and athleticism he plays with constantly help him make the most out of every carry. I’m very excited for what the future holds for Jayce. He is definitely an RB to know in this Class.

Jayce is an intriguing RB prospect to keep an eye on. He is a shifty, agile runner through traffic. The way he can quickly find paths to more yards and create space with his lateral cuts is impressive. Jayce also flashed power to run through arm tackles, even while making a cut he has highlights of tacklers falling to the ground as he continued to churn his legs through the contact. Throughout his highlights there are so many examples of him creating more than what was initially there. I look forward to watching him continue to develop at Oregon.
