Last but not least, we uncover Part VIII of our overall standouts list at our Prep Redzone Minnnesota Combine from last Sunday in Plymouth. Focusing mostly on the top performing DBs and QBs, wide receivers that could pop off this summer, and more.

Talk about a 2027 athlete that plays with presence miles ahead of his measurables, as our DB MVP [player_tooltip player_id='1246911' first='Jaxon' last='Brown'] of Wayzata as we have said, could have taken the WR MVP nod too which would have been a first at any of our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combines. The testing numbers also should catch every college coaches attention, going 4.59in the 40 yard dash, 4.02 in the pro agility, 9'3 in the broad jump and an absurd 6.72 in the L-Drill as Jaxon showed off as a certified weapon across the board in testing. With his 1v1 reps, Jaxon won I feel every rep with his attention to detail, well-versed positioning and more. He also showed off versatility in pass coverage showing off the stacked football IQ that could create physicality on every route the wide receivers ran on him, as this young man was unphased with the size of the wide receivers we at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine. One that I would expect is surely deserving of next-level attention early in this 2027 class.

Another defensive back that caught my attention from right up the road at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine amongst the defensive back group was [player_tooltip player_id='1612778' first='Brody' last='Thompson'] of Elk River. Brody impressed me with how instinctive he was in the 1v1 reps I got to watch as a safety that can cover plenty of ground and quickly trend downhill well with his athletic movement. That athletic movement check our boxes too in the early testing session, as Brody went 7.09 at 6'1 165 pounds which any college coach should find intriguing at his size. He shows off a 2026 defensive back prospect that can come make a play on the ball from just about anywhere, as he shows off impressive range going from sideline to sideline. Rolling the tape, you also see the great tackling ability that Brody has as one that just about every rep shows off a knockback tackler for the Elks. Brody surely is one to know on the camp trail this summer.

Staying in the NW Metro, we take our talents to another Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine standout from last Sunday, which was [player_tooltip player_id='1633908' first='JT' last='Lutgen'] out of Rogers who as a 2027 prospect, I love the upside this three sport athlete has at his disposal. JT showed off a sizable catch radius in the reps I watched in Plymouth as a 2027 wide receiver that is still growing into his frame from my eyes so that radius should surely get bigger over-time. JT also showed off growing fluidity as a route-runner from what I saw last fall and I felt in the reps I watched is learning how to become more physical with the frame he offers as a pass-catcher. The progression too with JT's hands in tight windows also blossomed at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine, as again the upside brewing for this young man in my eyes should be intriguing to watch grow in the coming years.

Jabari is a 2026 wide receiver that has been on my radar for years and brought the skillsets I wanted to see during 1v1s especially. I came away impressed with how much route creativity this young man has created since I first evaluated him as an 8th grader as I thought he was one of the most creative in the wide receiver group with his route-running and showed how well-versed his hands and balance were around especially with the amount of high traffic area catches he made during 1v1s that I witnessed right in front of me. Jabari also is one that I have always been impressed with the character college football programs will get at the next-level as a team captain for the Edina Hornets as one that plays with the competitive edge that I would want in my receiving as you can tell he will flourish at camps this summer what he shows you off during 1v1s and Indy as I really like his football IQ.

The quarterback competition was great at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine as Anoka 2027 quarterback[player_tooltip player_id='1120517' first='Blake' last='Sieben'] was one that I identified early that ended up being in the mix for QB top performers in the end. Blake popped out right away as one that was impressive with his mechanics for his age as the Tornadoes gunslinger not only I could tell, relished the attention to detail from coaching, he was one that sped up his process from start to finish in the reps I was able to able during Indy drills. One of the more poised quarterbacks I witnessed too throwing from the pocket as Blake had a few throws on intermediate routes that his ball fits were on point in tight windows. The fluidi release too was noted in my notebook, as Blake was quick with his progressions in my eyes as another 2027 QB to know out of the NW Metro.
