He operates well across the middle of the field with good speed and crisp routes. He plays with great energy and physicality. Most of the clips show his versatility on defense. Shoen lines up as a slot corner and deep safety. He looks more than capable against the pass and run. Shoen prepares by watching film, and it shows in how he diagnoses plays quickly and flies to the football. It led to 47 solo tackles and two interceptions last season.
