DeJean is Prep Redzone Iowa's top-ranked player overall in '27. The younger brother of former Iowa Hawkeye and current Philadelphia Eagle, Cooper DeJean, may have even more versatility than his older sibling. As a sophomore last season, he threw a touchdown, rushed for a score, found the end zone 10 times after receptions and added a Pick-6. When watching his sophomore video highlights, DeJean stands out on both sides of the ball as a receiver and cornerback, which speaks to his athleticism with his frame. It would play up even more if he grows into a tight end or linebacker. No need to decide now. Let it play out and dream on the upside, which is sky high. DeJean already reports scholarship offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, UAB and UNLV.

McIntire reported an Iowa State scholarship during November of 2023, his freshman year. He's also visited Iowa and heard from Kansas State, among others. McIntire lined up at quarterback last season, throwing for 25 touchdowns against just four interceptions and rushing for a pair of scores. On defense, he delivered 31.0 tackles (23 solo, 2.0 TFL) and an interception. McIntire impresses during his sophomore highlight video. His athleticism at quarterback makes him dynamic. McIntire shows a strong arm and accuracy with the ability to move the pocket or tuck it and run. He's also electric as a defensive back that's sturdy against the run and proficient in coverage.

Also a slick performer on the hardwood, the athleticism that aids William in hoops translates well to the gridiron. As a sophomore in 2024, he caught 43 balls for 679 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver. On defense, William delivered 27.0 tackles (17 solo, 4.5 TFL), 1.5 tackles sacks and a Pick-6. He averaged 18.1 yards on nine kick returns and 14.7 on six punt returns. All of that happened in just five games. William's 10th-grade video highlights reveal a dynamic receiver capable of getting deep or making people miss after taking a short pass. William can stick with opponents in coverage or support the run defensively.

The competition couldn't contain Kriegel last season. The sophomore tossed 18 touchdown passes, ran for 40 scores with 1,991 yards rushing, caught two TDs, had 23 solo tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, and intercepted a throw. Kriegel also stood out on returns. It looks like he's playing a few speeds faster than his opponents when watching his 10th-grade highlight video. Kriegel adds physicality to the equation on both sides of the ball. He runs over would-be tacklers on the regular. On defense, Kriegel runs well sideline to sideline and does a nice job separating from blocks. He's a technically sound tackler and quickly diagnoses what's coming his way.

Peska threw for six touchdowns, rushed for two scores, delivered 44.0 tackles and picked off six passes, one of which he took to the house. He averaged 21.8 yards on 13 kick returns with two TDs. As we witness during his sophomore video highlights, Peska is quick to diagnose what the offensive is running when he lines up at safety. He breaks well on the ball after getting a good read on the quarterback. Peska operates well dropping back or playing bump-and-run. He changes directions and adjusts well while throws are in the air. Peska is a dynamic offensive player capable of chucking it deep or evading would-be tacklers as a ball carrier.

On a playoff team with a veteran roster, Casey delivered significant contributions as a 10th-grader. He caught 19 balls for 248 yards and three touchdowns. He also chipped in on defense and special teams. We can see when watching his sophomore highlight video present production mixed with plenty of potential. He impresses as a receiver that runs by defenders and comes down with contested catches. Casey's size and length help him win matchups. He tracks the ball well in the air and smoothly adjusts to its location. Casey is a technically sound tackler willing to get physical in making stops.
