Wrapping up my QB coverage from the 612QBs camp last Sunday, we have underclassmen QBs who jumped out to me! I found six QBs from the class of 2028 and 2029 who I think all showed serious promise, and are definitely names to know going forward!

Creighton is not only my favorite underclassman QB at the camp, he's my favorite 2028 prospect in Minnesota in general. If you watched him play, you'd never guess he just finished his freshman season. His technique has developed rapidly. Creighton made throws all day that had coaches murmuring how high his ceiling was and how good he'd end up being. He boasts a talented arm, phenomenal throwing mechanics, and he still has three more years to develop. We've seen growth as a passer, and he's continuing to develop physically with a noticeable 4.69 shuttle time. He started 7 games as a freshman, throwing for over 1,300 yards during that time. I'm eagerly awaiting his sophomore season.

The most talented 2029 prospect I saw, Tablante, made the impressive hike all the way from central Illinois, and he didn't disappoint. Tablante was clearly a step ahead of all incoming freshmen in nearly every category, but stood out particularly in a few. He had the best throwing mechanics among 2029s and boasted a zippy release as well as impressive velo on short routes. The consistent ball placement, was very encouraging, and his arm strength was also impressive for an incoming freshman. I'm not super tapped into Illinois football, but I like Tablante as a standout 2029 prospect.

The greater Mankato area had a phenomenal showing at the camp, and Willaert was no exception. He has kind of a funky release, but consistently got out tight spirals and hit a number of throws off-platform early in the day. Willaert was able to put a decent amount of air under his intermediate to deeper routes, stretching the field fairly well. Iron sharpens Iron, and that Mankato East QB room is putting in the work. Willaert is a rising 2028 to keep your eye on.

Historically, Rocori has produced some incredible prospects, and Zauhar might be next in that prominent line. After talking to some coaches and a few of my coworkers, it was clear that quite a few of them are high on Zauhar, and I see why. The 2028 can sling it. He ran an impressive 4.57 shuttle, but some of his throws were what really caught my eye. His poise and ball placement on deeper routes are rare to find on a younger prospect like himself. Zauhar likely has one more developmental season in him before varsity, but if he continues to build on what he showed on Sunday he could be an interesting prospect.

Greseth boasted the best frame out of any 2028/2029 prospect and turned heads immediately with his play on the field, with some scouts calling him their favorite QB out of his group. He tested pretty well for a lanky freshman, hitting a nice 28" vert. But his throws are what attracted the most attention. His deep balls had outstanding touch, and his arm strength was easily among the best for his class. I think it's very likely we see Greseth take a sizeable jump in skill and production entering his sophomore season.

Kaphing first stood out to me during the testing portion, with a hyper-impressive 4.28 shuttle drill and nearly a 30" vert (29.6"). When he entered the throwing portion of a camp, I thought he generally proved to be an effective passer, with solid accuracy and ball placement, especially on routes beneath 15 yards. In an open QB room, Kaphing could contend for a varsity spot as a sophomore, but if he gets another year to develop, that could only stand to help him. Either way, a prospect to remember for the future.
