About Kellen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A natural thrower with above average arm strength and accuracy. Has good pocket awareness and mobility that can extend plays with my legs when needed. Has good decision making skills with an excellent understanding of offensive concepts and defensive coverages.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am someone who works hard. I am willing to put in the extra work to better myself and my teammates. I lead by example and make it my priority to encourage and motivate my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at our school. I also train with 612 Q's in the off-season.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My work ethic continues to get stronger. I continue to work on my leadership skills by being more vocal and leading by example. I train all year long with 612 Q's and I also throw with my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am still young in my development and experience. My biggest challenge is gaining the experience needed.

What type of college are you looking for?

A 4-year college that offers good education and a football program.

One of my favorite 2028 QBs in Minnesota, Mankato East’s Kellen Willaert Kellen Willaert Kellen Willaert 6'2" | 171 lbs | QB/DB Mankato East | 2028 MN had yet another strong in-person evaluation and visibility point at the PRZMN Spring Showcase. Calm, cool, and always poised, Willaert has a smooth, fluid, and quick throwing motion and release, and he consistently puts together one of the most accurate bodies of work in any QB group we see him with. On Saturday, his smoothness was yet again on display, as well as his beautiful touch on the ball. Willaert had maybe the best deep ball in attendance, dropping the ball in a bucket with lethal efficiency, and he was constantly threatening defensive backs to the third level of the field. East – and their QB room – is in a good spot right now.
