2028 Prospect Watch: Charlotte Area QBs

We're well into the offseason, and we're keeping things going ahead of spring workouts and summer practices. In a new series that will run concurrently with some of our other cornerstone content, like my <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/03/community-film-room-episode-4-2/">community film room series</a> or Matt Morrow's <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/03/deep-dive-union-county-wide-receivers/">county-by-county Deep Dives</a>, we're looking at what some of our 2028 players (both ranked and unranked) did as freshmen. We'll start with the Charlotte area quarterbacks, a deep and talented group.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 Charlotte QB Film Review</h2>    An intriguing lefty gun-slinger, Rizzuti got some run on varsity last season, throwing for just over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns. The tools are all there and the experience he got as a freshman should speed up his development. He rarely runs, but has the speed to be a true dual-threat and it's something I think we could see more often from him going forward.     Already possessing great size, including the weight to go with his height, Paylor isn't easy to sack. His lower body strength is an asset and when he steps into his throws the ball jumps out of his hands. Paylor got some run on varsity last season, and the film tells the story of an exciting young prospect with a high ceiling, one who could move up our rankings as we move forward.     Echevarria doesn't have a ton of experience, but he certainly has the tools to be a top quarterback in the state. He's already nearly 6'4" and has excellent speed, even if he didn't get many opportunities to use it last season. He doesn't have a ton of film, but from what we've seen, he can deliver with precision when he has time to throw. He has the tools, now we'll see how he develops.     Ford sat behind a talented senior quarterback last season, but he's been putting in the work in the offseason and looks like he could take over as the starter at Country Day. He's not the biggest quarterback, but he's a workout warrior who always tries to get better. He has a good arm and though there may be growing pains, he has the talent around him to have a great year as a sophomore.     Napier spent most of the 2024 season on Junior Varsity and played well there, displaying excellent touch and accuracy on his throws. He has a great arm, and we'd like to see him use that more, as he's flashed the ability to fire balls into tight windows, but often prefers to layer throws against zone. He's young and has plenty of time to hone his craft. For now, he's certainly one to monitor.
