Every time we do a ranking update, we dive into the positions with various breakdowns. In this breakdown, we're taking one final look at the quarterback position. This group will go down as one of the better classes in state history. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2025 breakdowns and more ranking updates throughout the next month!

TOP FIVE SPOTLIGHT

[player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Muskogee

Muskogee signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] closes out his high school career as the top QB prospect in the state's impressive 2025 class. Ficklin committed to Texas State last summer but then he flipped to Utah right before National Signing Day. We've said for a while now that Ficklin has the highest ceiling and you started to see him figuring that out over the last two seasons. He was a finalist for our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year award in 2023 and 2024 and was our All State 1st Team quarterback as a senior. Ficklin is a special talent and has an incredibly bright future as he heads to the Big 12.

[player_tooltip player_id='209872' first='David' last='McComb'] - Edmond Memorial

Edmond Memorial signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='209872' first='David' last='McComb'] would take over as QB1 during his freshman season and he never really looked back. McComb has been a quarterback prospect that has all the tools and he's exactly what you're looking for when it comes to the next level. He has an absolute rocket launcher of an arm, deceiving athleticism and good size to hold up at the college level. McComb put it all together and helped guide the Bulldogs to the 6A-1 semifinals in 2024. He would also become one of the first 2025 quarterbacks to commit when he gave a verbal to Kansas and he remained loyal to the Jayhawks.

[player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] - Union

Out of all the 2025 quarterbacks in Oklahoma, we knew about [player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] before any others. Reisig was on the radar of college coaches before he even entered high school. He then helped lead Jenks to a state championship as a freshman. And we know the rest of the story with what followed. Reisig was terrific for Union over the last three seasons, specifically in 2023 before a shoulder injury would sideline him for half of the regular season. Reisig was committed to Utah but after a visit up to Boston, he flipped his commitment to Boston College. Reisig has been so steady from the start of his career.

[player_tooltip player_id='242231' first='Grady' last='Adamson'] - Deer Creek

Deer Creek quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='242231' first='Grady' last='Adamson'] started for the Antlers for three seasons and in 2024, he helped them transition up to Class 6A-1 football. Adamson has been in the same conversation with Ficklin, McComb and Reisig for the last several seasons. In all honesty, there really isn't much that separates any of these guys from the others. All four have special traits and have incredibly bright futures. Adamson is committed to Georgia Tech and is yet another 2025 QB prospect that is ready to shine at the highest level. Adamson has also been a very underrated dual-threat athlete at the QB position.

[player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] - Norman North

Rounding out the top five is Norman North signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] and he's headed to the pacific northwest to play for Washington State. Eshelman was really solid as a sophomore and junior and then he absolutely exploded during the 2024 season. Eshelman was a terrific passer and then he was also a big threat to tuck the ball and run. We knew fairly early in Eshelman's career that he was one of the better athletes at the quarterback position and that certainly showed during his senior season. While his senior season was a roller coaster with wins and losses, he was steady from start to finish.

STOCK RISERS

[player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] - Stillwater

Stillwater quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='655747' first='Mason' last='Schubert'] didn't take long to fit right in after moving from Morrison to Stillwater for his senior season. Schubert was known by us during his time at Morrison but was still flying under the radar across the state. Schubert would immediately catch our attention during the spring when he lit up some of 6A-1's best defenses at a team camp. Schubert would follow that up with a fantastic senior season. The lefty is definitely a quarterback to keep an eye on moving forward as he heads to the college level. In late January, Schubert would give his commitment to SWOSU.

[player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] - Norman

There's not another quarterback in this class and there might not be another player regardless of position that improved more than Norman's [player_tooltip player_id='211962' first='Phoenix' last='Murphy'] in 2024. Coming into the 2024 season, Murphy was a solid quarterback but following the 2024 season, you could make the argument that he was one of the best in Class 6A-1 and this class without a doubt had the best collection of signal callers. Murphy absolutely torched defenses on a weekly basis and it did it against some of the best competition. Murphy heads to the next level at Missouri Southern and will certainly make them better.

[player_tooltip player_id='211570' first='Tres' last='Lorah'] - Elgin

Elgin quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211570' first='Tres' last='Lorah'] helped guide the Owls to their first state championship in program history in 2024. He led a team that was headlined by one of the best offensive lines in the state and an emerging star at running back. But Lorah also rewrote the passing record book at Elgin and while he's headed to NOC-Tonkawa to play baseball, there was no doubt that he was one of the best quarterbacks in the state in 2024. Lorah was incredibly consistent and rarely made mistakes as he helped lead his team to a state title. That would cap off a very memorable and successful career for the Elgin standout.

RECORD BREAKERS

[player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] - Fairview

Fairview quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='379243' first='Jax' last='Bernard'] is one of several quarterbacks on this breakdown that are now members of the state's 10,000 yard club. Bernard helped guide the Yellowjackets to back to back state championships as a sophomore and then again as a junior. Bernard came into this season looking to lead his team to a third straight title but the season ended abruptly when he got banged up in the playoffs. Bernard is staying close to home to play college football as he's committed to NWOSU and that's a great fit for him and a great get for the Rangers. Bernard has been one of the state's best over the last three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='595670' first='John' last='Mark Roller'] - Regent Prep

Regent Prep made the transition from 8-man football to 11-man football look easy in 2024. And [player_tooltip player_id='595670' first='John' last='Mark Roller'] was a big reason behind that. Now that it's all said and done, we just haven't seen many quarterbacks in state history that have produced at the level that Roller produced in his career. And it didn't just happen at the 8-man level. Roller saved his best for last with an outstanding senior season. Roller has signed to play college ball with Southwest Baptist and that's one of the steals of this 2025 class. Roller is a player that can absolutely dominate and should have a strong college career.
