I wrote in my notes that Lamech Rucker was the most traitsy MS passer we had at the event. He will measure in around 6'2 170 and would've stuck out physically in the HS group as well, which is no slight on anyone else. Rucker has a rare blend of size, arm talent, and physical upside for his age. He generates plenty of power on the ball with his arm alone, coiling around his ear and throwing a ball that arrives loud in the short areas. When his deep ball was on, he proved capable of getting it to turn over and fall in over the top of DBs. Rucker was one of the several prospects at the event who has the early look of a guy who could develop into a P4 prospect down the road.

[player_tooltip player_id='1413263' first='MJ' last='Fowler'] has plenty of developmental upside. He will come in around 5'10 135 with another growth spurt waiting. Even at his lighter weight, Fowler had some real life on the ball due to his long, natural throwing motion. He rips the ball with a tight, straight trajectory to the MOF and out-routes. He plays with solid mechanics and operates with a clean hitch and synchronized momentum through the pocket. Fowler will get plenty of looks at Colquitt County. Based on his lanky frame and age, exponential growth is expected for him.

Kristian Gallups Whatley won our "strongest arm" competition, which you can credit to his easy arm strength and the ability to manipulate trajectory on the ball. He is on the stouter side, but still has plenty of room to develop. With his muscle mass, he can toss the ball with plenty of air under it without much effort. As he develops more twitch and rotational energy, everything should shorten up and he can get the ball out quickly to attack each level of the field. As far as pure arm strength is concerned, Gallups Whatley is well-equipped in that category.

Corey Taylor is another long, lanky QB prospect who projects out as a traitsy prospect a few years down the line. Taylor's quick feet and release stood out to me up close. As is the case with many long, lanky QBs, he had no problem cutting through the ball and tightroping it into the short areas. As camp went on, he showed more and more the ability to mix up touch and placement to bend the ball around DBs. Taylor will test toward the top of the QB group. He might be the most "dual-threat" prototype amongst the group.

[player_tooltip player_id='1085872' first='Knox' last='Day'] is an in-state kid who consistently caught my eye with his arm strength and unique mechanics. Day is a 3/4ths arm-angle thrower who threw darts around the yard. The ball jumped out of his hand and arrived with good spin in the short areas. I would consider him a drive-ball thrower. He landed those throws pretty consistently during competition. The next step of his game is continuing to refine as a touch and placement passer. As far as point A to point B velocity, Day was easily towards the top of the group.

Papka might not have the early traits that some of the other guys have, but he is a marksman with solid operational skills and good mechanics. He had the arm to give his receivers a shot on some of the hole shots and harder-to-reach spots of the field. Papka's natural feel for the position and mechanics gives him a solid launching pad for when those traits come around. I wrote in my notes "Combo of good mechanics and solid arm strength".

Foard Streeter was similar to Papka in the sense that he might not have those elite traits yet, but he operated with a solid feel for the position and good mechanics. Streeter throws with a tight, almost catcher-style delivery from his ear, allowing him to get the ball out in a hurry and attack the short areas of the field. His drop mechanics were solid and he worked momentum up through the pocket. I would absolutely keep an eye on Streeter as he hits his growth spurt and develops.

Jason O'Neal was one of the younger and smaller guys in the position group, but that didn't stop him from being named a top performer. This is the second time I've seen him this offseason, and he impressed me with his touch and ball placement each time. O'Neal is still really young but has continued to shine amongst some older guys. I am intrigued to see how bigger he looks a year from now as he approaches a pretty formative year for physical growth.
