The gap scheme is more predicated on down blocking and using angles to create leverage and a more downhill running attack. In the Zone blocking scheme double teams and the ability to move laterally is used to create leverage and running lanes. In this article I'll give what I feel are both the best scheme and position fit for the player at the next level.
